I am in love with Dimitri James. Well, maybe not exactly the man, since I’ve never personally met this marvelous makeup artist/entrepreneur (and my husband would be annoyed), but I am a huge fan of his SKINN Cosmetics products. SKINN Cosmetics is a line of premium skin care and color cosmetic formulas developed by Dimitri, who is a professional make-up artist.
SKINN creates and produces all of the products in Los Angeles, using highly active, concentrated natural ingredients and avoiding excess water, fillers or packaging. The products are high end, at modest prices. Dimitri decided when he began his cosmetics line, to put the focus on the products, and not over-spend on fancy packaging. But that being said, his new, Palette of Perfection is just $42.50 and is housed in a good looking, shiny, black, “moc-croc” compact with interior mirror and three mini-sized applicators to apply the travel-friendly, “no-spill” 33-pieces of powder, shadow and lipstick. This truly is a perfect palette, inside and out. It is a complete face in a case kit just made for travel (the last palette he created like this has been my BCF (best cosmetic friend) for many trips abroad, because it literally has a little of everything you need (and more) to create a complete “face.”
The products have highly pigmented, wearable, blend-able formulas that perform well. The Palette of Perfection really does have so many colors, you’ll be prepared for whatever makeup you need, day or night, regardless of skin tone. The colors are mostly natural and earthy, save for one trendy apricot lip gloss, and a teal eye shadow. The rundown includes two powder blushes in peach and pink, a translucent powder, two concealers (beige and flesh). Two cream eye liners (navy and black, two lip glosses (sheer brown and sheer pink). a dozen lipsticks in pinks, berries, browns and nudes, plus a dozen eye shadows in light, medium and dark earthy tones with three deepest shadows that pinch-hit for powder liners (plum, navy, brown). There are some shimmers and some matte formulas, both in the eye shadows and the lipsticks. If you can’t find what you need in the Perfect Palette, you’ll never find them at all!
I’m not going to go into all the good-for-your-skin ingredients in these products or you’ll be reading this review all day, but the formulas of the product in the Palette of Perfection are all anti-aging, talc-free treatment colors designed to create a beautiful face at any age. If my gushing about the products isn’t enough to make you run and get one of these, purchased separately these items would cost easily over $200!
You can find Dimitri James SKINN cosmetics on some of the shopping channels, and also on the Dimitri James SKINN website.
