If you read The Advice Sisters features regularly, you know that I’m a particular fan of NYX Cosmetics. The quality and performance are very good, and the color choices are trendy, but still wear-able. The palettes, however, are superb, with a range of choices and configurations that can’t help but make a color cosmetics lover, lust after the latest and greatest. And the best thing is that they’re affordable. Yes, really, really affordable!
Whether you’re looking for a special gift that has a “WOW!” factor or you’re looking for a little splurge for yourself, there’s no need to wait. The NYX Cosmetics Waiting for Tonight Palette is my call-out today for a fabulous find. It’s just $30.00 but it packs and entire face in a case kit into an attractive, sleek, shiny black compact with interior mirror ad a couple of mini-applicators.
This is a very versatile palette. There are 32 highly pigmented shades, 2 complimenting blushes, 1 bronzer (a golden, not red, bronze), 4 eyebrow powders (blonde to black), 3 concealers, 4 chic lip glosses. Take your daytime look into a sassy goddess of the night look with one handy palette.
There are no 50 Shades of Grey in this one. And the sky’s the limit (none hard or soft -limits–with this sexy palette). You get a top of 32 highly pigmented eye shadows in fairly subdued tones throughout the spectrum, in matte and shimmery formulas that are worthy of mastering a smoky eye and a smoldering night or daytime look. The shadows are so pigmented, all you have to do is lightly tap your brush in them, and blend the color smoothly on your lids, adding a bit more if you wish. You can also use a liner brush and use the shadow wet, making them even more versatile.
The palette has another part, however. You also get a bottom of two blushes, pink and peach (non shimmery), and a medium toned bronzer. Four eyebrow powders let you define your brows ( a must for Fall and Winter as a trend). If you’re not into defining your brows (not always recommended, especially when brows are big and bushy), you can use them as liners or shadows —
—And that’s not all! There are also 3 cream concealers (flesh, medium and mint–to reduce redness), and four light lip glosses in tones of peach and pink. The only items in the entire set that I’m not wild about are the lip glosses. Lip gloss is a personal matter, and I just prefer lip glosses applied from a tube or a wand, that have a bit more “slip” and more color. But you’ll get two light pinks, and two light peach tones to play with in this set that you can apply with a lip brush, or your fingertip.
This is not really a palette to travel with, because it is fairly large, although it closes up to a reasonably compact size. But it looks nice on display at home, with a black and white theme that is like a modern art-deco design, There is no need to wait to tonight to order (or to enjoy) this gorgeous palette! You can get it now for yourself and order a bunch for gifts at http://www.nyxcosmetics.com/
