Have a Good Hair Holiday: New Products & Gifts from Redken & Pureology @Redken @Pureology #Hair

If I could have three wishes, one of them might just be for healthier,  shinier, less frizz hair with color that lasts longest (redheads, fade fast). I know I wouldn’t be the only one who would give a Queen’s ransom, for better hair.  For Holiday 2012, two of my favorite hair care brands, Redken and Pureology, have lovely gift-ables.  Redken is offering hair care sets including one just for men that address specific hair issues, and  Pureology has three!

Redken’s nicely boxed sets with cute graphics ask:  “what do you want?” The sets include three duos of Shampoo (10.1 fl. oz.) and Conditioner (8.5 fl. oz.) from three of Redken’s popular collections:  Color Extend, All Soft, and Extreme lines, for just $23.00:

Color Extend has Redken’s exclusive, new, Interlock Protein Network (IPN) technology and fade resist complex to help even redheads enjoy longer lasting color.  All Soft has Redken’s Keratin Enrich Complex (also with IPN) for softness and shine, plus Argan-oil for elasticity and softness.  The Extreme products have Redken’s Fortifying Complex (and IPN) to help keep hair strong and less prone to breakage. The Extreme Kit has Redken’s Fortifying Complex (and IPN) to help hair resist breakage, and become stronger.

For those who need more volume, there is a Volume Kit ($19.00) with Redken’s Guts 10 root targeted volume spray foam in a full size, and a quick dry 18, instant finishing Spray (travel size). These are two of the most popular products used backstage at Fashion Week.   For those who crave a smoother blow-dry experience, the Smooth Kit ($19.00) features a full sized Satinwear 02 Prepping Blow Dry Lotion, and a travel size Fashion Work 12 spray to keep hair styled as you intended.  *these kits also offer $5.00 off a full size Argan-6 Oil

For men, there is a set with two Redken for Men Classics ($19.00) with Redken’s fabulous Redken for Men Go Clean Shampoo with glycerin and provitamin to give him naturally gorgeous, shiny, strong hair,  and a Redken for Men Maneuver Working Wax that offers a water-based formula and medium, workable, control.  *the kit also includes a sample of Redken’s Grip Tight Firm Hold Gel.  Also for men, although not in a gift set, is Redken’s Clean Brew Extra Cleansing Shampoo $12.00 8.5. oz.  The shampoo is formulated with a blend of malt, brewer’s yeast and orange zest, the ingredients you find in beer. While the product doesn’t smell like beer, and you certainly wouldn’t want to drink it, the shampoo cleanses deeply and adds body. It is good for normal to oily hair and scalp. The product appealed to our male reviewers, who said it was easy to understand, got the “gunk” out, and left them feeling clean and fresh.

Redken products including these sets are sold in authorized salons, and that’s where you should pick up yours. Please visit Redken.com to find an authorized salon near you.

Redken’s new Curvaceous complete curl line claims to define curls and reduce frizz by 97 percent for up to three days.

..and while we’re talking about the great products Redken has to offer, let me tell you a little about the latest: the Curvaceous Collection. Redken’s new Curvaceous complete curl line claims to define curls and reduce frizz by 97 percent for up to three days. The key is a new Curl Memory Complex that nourishes, strengthens and reactivates curly hair’s natural beauty. The complex includes sugar crystals (attracts moisture to curls and waves to reactivate their natural pattern), and Moringa oil (to hydrate curls),  plus Redken’s Interlock Protein Network (IPN) technology which acts at the tension point of “hi-stress” curls to give a boost of strength for all day manageability, and UV filters to prevent color fade and restore and maintain shine.

Curly hair tends to be the most dry hair type and needs lots of moisture.  The new line has seven products that can be customized to meet the needs of all curl types, because not every curl is the same. Type II Wavy curls are open waves that are loose and less defined; Type III Curvy are a mix of loose and tighter curls;  Type IV curly ranges from ringlets to compact curls;  Type V springy curls range from tightly coiled to densely compact twists; and Type VI spiral curls that are densely compact *these are the driest and most fragile.  The products are safe for color treated hair, and include: Cream Shampoo; Conditioner; Curl Dive nourishing mask; Wind Up reactivating spray; Ringlet perfecting lotion; Full Swirl cream serum; and a Wave Ahead texturizing mousse. The Advice Sisters haven’t been able to personally try the products yet, but we’re confident that curly headed people will love them!

Pureology is offering consumers three lovely gift sets at affordable prices, that only only make your hair look good, they make you feel good, because Pureology is donating $20,000 to Global Green USA in conjunction with these holiday gift sets!  The sets are nicely packaged, one featuring full sized products, the other two offering travel-sized products in re-useable, zippered makeup/travel bags. r nearly 20 years, Global Green USA has been a national leader in advocating for smart solutions to global warming including green building for affordable housing, schools, cities and communities that save money, improve health and create green jobs.

The Hydrate Holiday Gift Set ($56.00) features Pureology’s bestselling Hydrate system complete with a limited edition Pureology Hydrate scented candle: Hydrate Shampoo (8.5 oz. retail); Hydrate Condition (8.5 oz. retail) and Colour Stylist Supreme Control Hairspray (2.1 oz. retail)

I received one of the two mini sets, the  Touch of Glamour”  ($22.00) with Perfect 4 Platinum Petites (for blond hair, primarily, but this redhead loved the products, too).  These products are very nurturing but they won’t weigh your hair down. They feature something called “Keravis,” a veggie protein that replenishes and plumps keratin gaps to strengthen the hair. The products also feature natural plant extracts of chamomile (to enhance suppleness and softness); lemon (to clarify and smooth the cuticle for more shine); and coriander oil to moisturize and boost shine as well.  And as with all Pureology products, this line has their signature, Anti-fade Complex that is full of antioxidants and full spectrum UVA/UVB sunscreens, plus Vitamins C and E.  I also like the fact that Pureology has ZeroSulfate shampoos that are also salt-free, so you can use them without damaging or stripping your hair, especially essential after some chemical treatments. This trio of travel minis includes:  You get: 1.7 fl. oz. minis of Perfect 4 Platinum! Perfect 4 Platinum Shampoo and Conditioner, plus a ,5 fl. oz. spray bottle of  Radiance Amplifier (for anti-frizz, and shine). The products are nestled inside of a  metallic plum colored “woven” pleather zippered and lined makeup bag/travel bag (with an additional, outside snap).

The other mini sized set,  in a soft gold metallic pleather bag, is called Touch of Luxe ($25.00), featureing the anti-aging, colour protective  Nano Works products. This one contains a trio of mini-sized Nano Works Petites:  Nano Works Shampoo (1.7 oz. petite); Nano Works Condition (1.7 oz. petite) and a Colour Stylist Cuticle Polisher Packette.   These mini sets are a great way to get acquainted with Pureology, and they make lovely stocking stuffers or Secret Santa gifts.

As long as you’re reading about Pureology’s holiday offerings, I have one more suggestion: If you have invested in great hair color,  using products that help to maintain the color, and the health of your hair, makes sense. But if you want products that are luxurious and 100% vegan, Pureology. has an entire line of styling products that are not only vegan,t yey’re created just for hair that has been color treated.  Their new New Colour Stylist Collection protects hair  with something they call an exclusive, “Keravis-infused Strengthening AntiFadeComplex® (a blend of antioxidants and full spectrum UVA/UVB sunscreens  including Heliogenol, plus Vitamins C & E ).   Lipid Extracts of coriander, camelina and olive oil help to boost shine and and make hair soft, even if it’s been chemically tortured. The products have Pureology’s signature scent Vanilla, Rose and Mandarin Oil so they smell lovely, not like chemicals and alcohol.

Pureology has all sorts of hair care and styling products, but in the Winter, those who suffer from limp, lifeless hair are going to find getting volume into it, all the more challenging. For them, Pureology has the answer: products form their Colour Stylist Line. These don’t just add volume, they are also formulated specifically to add texture, or shine, for prep/flow-dry, to finish, and curl.”    For example, the Lustrous Volumizer Bodifying Glaze ($26.00 8.4 oz.), lets you add instant volume and shine, along with a lot of hold to keep your hair where you want it. It also contains natural Xylose to protect your hair from heat stylers. You don’t need much, just a quarter-sized dollop applied evenly through damp hair before styling, does the trick. The nearly clear gel is in a jar, not a pump (I would have preferred the pump) but that aside, it’s going to be a godsend for those who need it.  It also makes a nice holiday gift idea.   Also launching this month is a Root Lift Spray Hair Mousse ($22.00 10 oz.) to add targeted volume, and a Silk Bodifier Volumzing Mousse ($24.00 8.4 oz.) to add body and fullness, and shine. All Pureology products feature their exclusive, AntiFace Complex, with Zero Sulfate shampoos, 100% vegan formulas, natural extracts,. concentrated formulas, signature aromatherapy blendfs, and the products are not testing on animals, contain no animal products or by-products, and are against animal cruelty.  How could you not love a company like Pureology?!!
