Too Tired to Wash? Just Wipe! @Aveeno @Ponds @SimpleSkincare #Wipes #Skincare

Woman Yawning

It’s a simple fact that if you don’t clean the dirt, sweat, makeup and other pollutants off your skin, it can’t look its best. But sometimes you just don’t feel like washing (we know).  Sometimes too, you may be somewhere where soap and water (or facial cleanser and water) is simply, scarce (e.g. on a camping trip, or out in the desert, or on a hike).  Or you might be in transit (e.g. trains, planes, automobiles, busses, bikes and more), or you’ve had a spur-of-the-moment change of plans and find yourself in need of a way to remove the evening’s makeup before he sees it all over your face when the sun comes up (no explanation, needed).

Facial Wipes, are the answer!

There are so many different types from simple cleaning, to exfoliating, sensitive skin, oil balancing, radiance, soothing, and more.  But what they all do is make it easy to remove die and makeup and make your skin clean, without using soap and water.  Simply wipe one over your skin, and you’re done.  Even better, Wipes are travel friendly and they make your entire face (and body, if you must) feel refreshed and clean.  And there are plenty of brands that are very affordable.  We’re showcasing three in this feature.  Ponds Facial Wipes are all just $4.99 for a 30/pack.  SimpleS kincare  Facial Wipes are just $5.99 for a 25/pack. Aveeno’s wipes are $6.99 for a pack of 25.

I really like Simple® facial wipes because they have no harsh chemicals, no artificial perfumes or dyes that can upset skin and they contain good for your skin ingredients.  If there is one thing I really personally don’t like on y face, it’s fragrance (this is a personal preference, others may differ).  These wipes are also hypoallergenic, paraben-free, dermatologist tested, non- comedogenic and pH balanced. There are four types of cleansing wipes plus eye makeup remover wipes: Cleansing, Exfoliating, Oil Balacing, and Simple Radiance Cleansing.   What you don’t see on the Simple® Cleansing Facial Wipes are that they give you a one-step powerhouse towel to remove dirt and makeup, even waterproof mascara. The formula is oil and alcohol-free and contains Vitamins: o Pro-Vitamin B5 plus antioxidant Vitamin .  The Oil Balancing Cleansing wipes have glycerin to protect the skin’s moisture barrier, zinc PCA to reduce the appearance of oil on skin, phytosphingosine with anti-inflammatory properties, and the wipes are also alcohol-free.   I also tried the Exfoliating wipes that work to remove dry, dead skin cells while aloe vera conditions skin and Pro-Vitamin B4 softens and smooths. I liked these as well, for adding a bit of radiance to my skin.  I didn’t try the radiance cloths, but they are lightly patterned for gentle exfoliation and also have mango extract, bisabolol as an anti-inflammatory and glycerin, plus 1-methylhydantoin-2-imide which helps to brighten skin.  You can get these are mass market retailers, drugstores and supermarkets, or visit

There are also four different PONDS wet towelettes to try (we tested two:  Evening Soothe, and Original Fresh).  Original Fresh features a textured cloth that ha anti-oxidants and Vitamin E, plus the cloths are non-drying, dermatologist tested, hypoallergenic, and safe for those who wear contact lens wearers.  Evening Soothe features Chamomile and White Tea. Fragrance is very subjective (the fragrance is supposed to be relaxing)  so if you like a bit of fragrance on your face you will love this.  Who am I to argue as this product won a 2012 Allure Best of Beauty Skin Award.  The point is, it gently gets rid of dirt and makeup and calms your skin without drying it out.  It’s also Dermatologist tested, Hypoallergenic and safe for contact lens wearers.  You can also chose Ponds Exfoliating Renewal Wet Cleansing Towelettes featuring invigorating beads to gently polish away dead, dry skin cells, and Ponds Luminous Clean Wet Cleansing Towelettes with soft white Kaolin clay known for gently drawing out deep seated impurities in your skin.  It did so, impressively!   Ponds is known for affordable and effective skincare, so choosing one of these is a no-brainer! You can get all of these easy to use, re-seal-able (as are all the towelette packs, I should add) products, at mass market retailers, supermarkets and select drugstores or visit

aveeno wipesAmbassador Badgeaveeno ultra calming makeup removing wipesAs an Aveeno Ambassador, I’d be remiss if I didn’t also recommend some of my new  favorite wipes, the Aveeno Active Naturals Postively Radiant Makeup Removing Wipes (Srp. $6.99 for 25).  They’re part of the Positively Radiant collection, which I already love.  These are  Oil-free, Noncomedogenic, Dermatologist Tested, and Opthalmologist They also have Aveeno’s exclusive Active Naturals® Total Soy Complex.  The Advice Sisters have written about this often, but it helps to  even out and smooth skin tone.  It has Vitamin B3  to boost hydration and reduces redness (you’ll see it listed as ”niacinamide” on the label.).  Just so you know: Vitamin B3 increases the production of ceramides and fatty acids, two key components of your skin’s outer protective barrier. As that barrier is strengthened, skin is better able to keep moisture in and irritants out — making B3 a great ingredient if your complexion is dry or sensitivee. Some say that niacinamide also improves the signs of flushing and blushing from rosacea, and that it also inhibits the transfer of pigment to skin cells, minimizing dark spots.  But back to the wipes —   I have used these wipes to remove even stubborn long lasting lipstick and mascara without a struggle, and yet even though my eyes are sensitive to a lot of makeup removers, the wipes don’t irritate them.  My skin looks brighter after I’ve used these for a few days, and they are so easy to use.  What’s not to like!  The Advice Sisters also reviewed Aveeno’s Ultra Calming Wipes, last Summer.  You can get these in mass market retailers and drugstores and supermarkets, or visit:
