Curls are a must-have for any celebrity, and women all over the country are looking for easier, faster, and better ways to get them. There are lots of curling irons, marcel irons (the ones without clips so you don’t get a crimp in your curls) and automatic twirlers. All of these will curl your hair, but lately the automatic curling irons have been the focus of attention. These do a lot of the “heavy lifting” for you, so you don’t have to. And they come in a wide variety of styles and price points.
T3 is known for high quality hair tools. The Advice Sisters reviewed two terrific heat stylers from T3 back in June 2013 , the fabulous T3 Luxe 2i Tourmaline hair dryer and the Body Waver by T3. Now, two years later,
The T3 Twirl 360 is unusual in that it is a hybrid between a regular clip curling iron and one of the automatic curling irons. You start by clipping the bottom end of your hair onto the heated barrel, and then it rotates either right or left, based on your wrist movements, at the touch of a button on the handle, spooling your hair onto the barrel to curl it. It has gyroscopic technology, which is used in aviation, space exploration, and hi-tech electronic devises, and is used for its sensitivity and precision. The Gyroscopic technology is triggered when you push the button to let the unit know you’ve got a piece of hair ready to twirl around the barrel.
There are two speeds and five heat settings up to 410°, plus excellent T3 tourmaline + ceramic technology to keep hair shiny and frizz free. The clamp is mid length, so even if your hair is layered, you can get the different pieces to stay put in the clamp. The 1.25-inch barrel lets you make soft waves which most people want. Tip: if you really want springy-er curls, hold the curler in place longer, then pin your curls in place and let them cool for a while, then carefully unclip them and twist them around your finger without brushing them out. T3 provides high performance products, so this one arrives with a Nine-foot 360° swivel cord that really makes it a lot easier to move it around your heat, without tangling. There is also a two-year warranty.
Now this all sounds fabulous, and it is, but I have to be an honest reviewer. I love the unit, but it takes a little practice. The T3 Twirl 360 Styling Irondoes not come with a heat glove and you are still getting your hair onto a hot barrel and clipping it. I almost burned myself simply putting the iron down on the included, small hot pad, because I almost touched the barrel, between uses. In addition, since there’s nothing to anchor your hair with, you have to hold the hair in place and figure out how to get the unit to wrap your hair around the barrel. But once you get the hang of it, the T3 Twirl does a quick, easy, fabulous job of making pretty waves and curls, and the tourmaline + ceramic helps curl more efficiently and safely. I’d still suggest using a reasonable amount of heat protectant with any heat styler.
