We’ve Found Two New Fun Products For Your Face: Smart Color Wheels by FACE Stockholm
Fun Fact: the color wheel was developed by Sir Isaac Newton in 1666. It’s the basis for all color theory. The 12 basic colors are called “hues.” They can be lightened by adding white (called a “tint”) or darkened by adding black (a “shade.”). The typical artists’ paint or pigment color wheel includes the blue, red, and yellow primary colors. The corresponding secondary colors are green, orange, and violet or purple. The tertiary colors are green-yellow, yellow–orange, orange-red, red–violet, violet-blue and blue–green.
…But The Advice Sisters aren’t featuring that color wheel in today’s feature — we are suggesting two beauty products, Smart Color Wheels from one of our favorite companies, FACE Stockholm!
FACE Stockholm’s “Smart Wheel” Color Wheels ($24.00 each) feature four large pie-shaped wedges of sheer color in a Nude Smart Color Wheel, and semi-sheer color in the Bright Smart Color Wheel. These creams let you play with mixing and blending color. They multi-task, for lips, eyes, and cheeks in a “smart” portable package!
Face Stockholm Nude Smart Wheel $24.00
If you like a glow but not too much color, the “Nude” Smart Wheel is a perfect partner for your style. The colors are super sheer and leave just a sheen (or some shimmer) on your skin. Ater trying these color, I think they’re really best for a light blush more than for eyes, but they also look nice on lips for a nude gloss.
These are minimalist makeup. If they’re too sheer “as-is” you can play with them by using them over or under another product. You can also layer these colors together, but you can’t add too much or your skin will feel “gloppy.” The one with the most intensity is the pearly off-white highlighter (apply a touch of it anywhere you want emphasis). The other colors will show up on the palest skin, but otherwise, try them under or over another color.
In the Nude Color Wheel, the color with the most intensity is the pearly off-white highlighter (apply a touch of it anywhere you want emphasis). The other colors will show up best on pale skin, but on deeper tones, add interest.
Face Stockholm BRIGHT Smart Wheel $24.00
The “Bright” Smart Wheel also has sheer color, but these colors have more intensity. None of these have shimmer but they do add a bit of glossy shine wherever you smooth them on. Tip: If you are wearing these on your lips, note that the colors are luxuriously soft and the products are emollient, so it’s best to use a lip pencil underneath for staying power.
The fuchsia berry color adds a retro feel as a blush, but looks very modern as a berried lip gloss.
In this wheel, the red is the most intense and it’s great for a lipgloss but well blended, makes a nice blush, too.
The peach and pink look nice on most complexions either on cheeks or lips without a lot of layering.
Since these colors are so sheer and blend-able, try the pink, peach and red colors on your eyelids for the runway trends without feeling “crazy” doing it.
These lightweight compacts with clear covers are easily tote-able. Try layering colors and trying new looks with them. That’s what color wheels are for...experimentation!
