Luke’s Lobster has re-opened in Brooklyn Bridge Park for the Summer
Report by Alison Blackman
The uber popular Lukes Lobster and their beloved lobster rolls have arrived in DUMO and the Brooklyn Bridge Park for the Summer, through November 2016.
Lukes Lobster is all about one thing: lobster rolls. Yes, they’ve got salads (for vegetarians) but really, it’s mecca for lobster roll lovers. Moreover, Lukes Lobster makes sure you know that they seafood they use is traceable, sustainable seafood from fisheries along the gulf of Maine that goes into Luke’s Lobsters in New York, New Jersey, DC, Philadelphia, Chicago, Boston, and Las Vegas.
If you want a lobster roll dripping in mayo and celery, you’re not going to find it here. Luke’s Lobster lobster rolls and lobster, lobster and nothing but lobster (with a tiny bit of mayo, or none at all) served up in a fresh, toasted, split top bun. You can get a pickle, and chips, and there’s soda and water and juice. Some locations have beer. I have been advised that it takes a quarter-pound of pure lobster meat from 5 or 6 unlucky lobster claws to make each roll. If you are gluten free you can get your lobster without the roll.
It was supposed to be a lovely Spring day when my companion and I made our way down to the Brooklyn Bridge Park, but, in fact, a chilly wind was blowing and it there was an icy rain. We were freezing. Randa Ebrahim, the shift supervisor, and Kyle Schut were sitting inside the window waiting to greet us. There were a lot of chairs and tables on the side of the building just begging for someone to sit down and enjoy the view of the world-famous Brooklyn Bridge and the Manhattan skyline, but it was so cold, we had our lobster rolls to go. Once at home, I surveyed the lobster roll, literally stuffed with lobster and claw meat. It was tender, sweet, delicious. Everything a good lobster should be, made better by a sprinkling of pepper and a tiny bit of mayo.
All too soon, I consumer my lobster roll and the fun was over. This could really become an addiction! You know I’m going back.
