Fashion Week RunwayReport Fall 2103, Noon by Noor @mbfw #fashion @noonbynoor

The founders or Noor by Noor are Noor Rashid Al Khalifa and Haya Mohammed Al Khalifa. Rashid is a Royal Princess from the Kingdom of Bahrain, and Haya is from London, England. The line is named after the The name for the line, Noon By Noor, comes from the Arabic letter ‘N’, pronounced as ‘noon’.

This collection was full of pretty, feminine, wearable clothes that were elegantly styled, but very modest (no bare navels or wild looks in sight).  The vibe was ladylike and refined with lots of body-friendly styles, beautiful and luxurious long coats, dresses, and pops of color from the season’s sure to be hits of black, red, and plum.  I could definitely see a young royal from any country wearing these clothes, but they would work on the City streets, too.  I could definitely see Kate Middleton wearing the red dress and black coat, above, can’t you?

A standout was the long, red evening gown with a bit of a bustle, at the finale. Ditto a red pantsuit that shimmered in silk satin from head to toe with embellishments and bee embroidery.  The big stars in the collection were the beautifully tailored coats to cover all the bases from jeans to evening-wear.

The detailing and fabrics for the clothes of Noon by Noor were exquisite, but the look is conservative, definitely more ladies who lunch than avant-garde club kid. Some of the bow blouses and dresses were worn beautifully by the young models, but might be a bit matronly on the “matrons” that will be buying from this collection. Spotted in the front row was the statuesque “Real Housewives” Alex McCord, who would put her own spin on these clothes with her own, quirky style.

The show featured music by The Misshapes. Backstage beauty included hair by Laurent Dufourg for PRIVE, make up by Neil Young for MAC Cosmetics and nails by Red Carpet Manicure.

If you are hoping for Noon by Noor in your closet this Fall, check out their online web site and boutique (*under construction at the moment, but there is the promise of the complete runway show that I saw yesterday, coming soon).  You can also purchase Noon by Noor at Saks Fifth Avenue Bahrain and Harvey Nichols, Kuwait.
