NYFW Spring/Summer 2017 Runway Report: Carmen Marc Valvo

You can always turn to Carmen Marc Valvo for the perfect party dress and this collection did not disappoint in exuding the class and artistry that has become his signature style.
A vision full of beautiful stripes and florals, the Carmen Marc Valvo Spring/Summer 2017 collection captivated the audience in a way that dared them to step outside a clichéd perception of summer fashion. The inspiration was innocent memories of youth.
Accomplishing this, Valvo showed that wearing bralettes is not the only way to be summer sexy! The designer offered something for everyone with his more conservative spin on the crop top trend that showed just a hint of a midriff.
Donning wearable pieces of art composed of embellished silks and floral appliques; the models resembled live beach dolls in organza gowns, cocktail dresses and swimwear with cleverly placed sheer insets.
Paying homage to classic 70’s beauty, M.A.C Cosmetics’ Romero Jennings created a doe-eyed look with drawn on lower lashes and a reverse ombre lip.
Celebrity hair stylist, Ted Gibson took 70’s chic to new “heights” with his pin set technique to create voluminous textured hair on the runway — that was teased toward the sky and topped with a bow. Imagine your favorite childhood doll coming to life and sashaying down the runway with sun-kissed skin!
A natural progression for Valvo, this collection was presented with a masterful execution and clever design that reflects his classic pattern of glamorous fashion with a hint of a modern flare. I’m totally obsessed and can’t wait to dive in!
