here’s how to make Summer 2016 hair beautiful and fun in seconds
Invisibobble: it’s a tiny hair tool that fits in the palm of your hand, but it is truly one of those little things that truly makes life easier, more beautiful, and more fun. These colorful, stretchy, plastic spirals not are much more than just a ponytail elastic that won’t hurt when you pull them out, but they can be used to style and updo, quickly make a bun when you’re dying of the heat, or simply add some color to your hairstyle. You can wear one (or stack several) on your wrist as an impromptu bracelet, and when you need one (e.g. at the gym, or when you’re traveling, the beach, the pool, etc.) you will always have an invisibobble handy for use. I always stash a few invisibobble’s in my makeup case. When I travel, they’re essential for everything from a bad hair day to an make-shift bungee cord/rubber band tie. I can’t live without them! The colorful hair rings are practical, fun and multi-purpose.
The small stretchy spiral rings of colorful plastic remind me of old-style telephone cords. At the launch event in New York last year, I saw them being used to style fancy updos where just one invidibobble was stretched several times (depending upon your hair’s thickness) and once they’re in your hair, they have a strong grip that won’t let you down. You won’t need clips or bobby pins, it’s amazing. But these little rings apply pressure evenly to your ponytail, pun or updo so it doesn’t feel uncomfortable. Even more fabulous, when you pull them out they just pull out smoothly. They are also plastic so you can wear them in the pool or sea and they won’t get sticky or soggy.
Invisibobble ($7.95/3 pieces) is so simple, you’ll wonder why someone didn’t market it before now. Made in Germany, the Invisibobbles arrives in cute little cubes, three of the same color to a package. There is a core collection of Invisibobble colors featuring primary colors and also clear invisibobbles. But there are also limited edition collections and also invisibobbles of different sizes. The latest invisibobble® ORIGINAL limited edition collection is called the Secret Garden Collection with four tropical pastel shades that are so “Miami Beach
and fun for sun: Forbidden Fruit, Cherry Blossom, Sweet Clementine and Lucky Fountain. These lovely colors are available from May – September 2016 at Urban Outfitters & Topshop.
The ORIGINAL invisibobble is going to handle just about every task, but there are two other types of invisibobble I’ve just learned about.
Invisibobble POWER ($8.95/3 rings) is slightly larger than the original invisibobble and the plastic spiral feels just a bit heftier. The grip is stronger, meant for active sports when you really need your hair to stay put without compromise. But true to it’s nature, the invisibobble will pull out without pain or hair breakage when you’re ready to remove it. There are four colors: . True Black , Crystal Clear Something Blue and Pinking Of You. *available at American Eagle, B-Glowing.com, Ulta, Nordstrom and beauty.com
On the polar opposite side of the spectrum is the invisibobble NANO collection ($6.95 3 rings) . These are mini-sized invisibobbles. At first I wasn’t sure what I’d need them for, until I realized they were the perfect size to secure a bitty braid, or secure side pieces of hair. If you have little girls, these will be perfect for them, and they will love you forever for getting them NANOs instead of rubber bands that hurt when pulled out. No more tears, lots of smiles and pretty hair styles! *available at American Eagle, B-Glowing.com, Ulta, Nordstrom and beauty.com
