(new): Jewelry is my most favorite Bling!

When I look at the sun glittering on pure white snow, or holiday lights, or the bright sunshine, I can’t help but think of the sparkle of crystals, stones and metals. With the holiday season about the begin, your personal budget might be a bit lean. Instead of buying a holiday dress you can really only wear once, why not invest in some show-stopping jewelry that will perk up anything you wear, new or old. Ring in the new year glittering like a princess, or make the season particularly “merry and bright” for someone special. Jewelry from Carolee makes a treasured gift. That said, here are a few of my favorite “blings” from Carolee Jewelry, to help you end the year (and begin 2016), in style.
Carolee Jewelry is celebrating its 43rd year. It is a company already loved for quality fashion jewelry and accessories covering tastes subtle to show-stopping, classic to trendy. While the items are available in department stores, if you purchase them directly from Carolee they arrive in beautiful, hard-sided gift boxes into which your precious pieces are nestled in a brown satin drawstring bag, The brown and gold gift box is tied with an elastic golden ribbon (I have often re-purposed these as headbands)!
Invest less than $100 in eye-popping sparklers you can wear a lot more than once! The Upper East Side Clear Crystal Kite Chandelier Pierced Earrings (Style #CLP00046S100) by Carolee are an affordable $95.00. Five lengths of pear-shaped, faceted CZs (Total Weight 17.28cts) are set into gold tone metal swing in a drop a large 3″ in length from earwires enrusted with tiny clear CZs. Some earrings in this collection, including these stunning chandelier earrings, are also available in blue. These are a bit weighty, given their size, but not uncomfortable. It doesn’t matter what you wear (or don’t wear) with these, earrings like this make the outfit. These would also make a great gift for a friend who can’t get enough drama and sparkle.
Another statement piece that is appropriate even for a work day, is this Desert Oasis Frontal Bib Necklace (Style #:CLN00072G230) is $150.00 and the matching Desert Oasis Clutster Drop Piereced Earrings (Style #:CLP00074G230 are $55.). The set offers sparkles of faceted topaz stones that send glittering sparks of light, when you move. This was was my “go-to” throughout fashion Week in New York because it seemed to enhance every neckline. Carolee fancifully describes this collection as: “a way to indulge your inner goddess” but in a more down to earth description, it will make your neutrals, pop! As with most of the Carolee collections, there are a number of earring styles and other accessories (e.g. rings and bracelets) that coordinate with this necklace on the Carolee web site. The necklace has a generously sized Lobster Claw Closure and an adjuster for 16-18 inches. The earrings dangle 1 1/4″ and are 3/4″ wide — big enough to be showy, but the drop isn’t so dangly that you’d look out of place wearing them in a business setting. These also have a French Wire which I love because they close securely in the back.
If you’re looking for items that make you look good, and feel good, and do good things for others, Carolee has a number of these items as well (see our previous article featuring some of these Carolee jewelry items that give back to worthy causes). One item that I particularly like for holiday gifting because it will charm you, literally, is the 2015 Stand Up to cancer Gold or Silver-tone necklace (each just $45.00) . The Stand Up To Cancer 2015 pendant necklaces features two charms: a Carnelian stone, the other charm is the Stand Up To Cancer signature upward pointing arrow. The necklaces have a 16-18″ adjustable chain. Carolee will donate $5 from the sale of each piece to Stand Up To Cancer. this program of the Entertainment Industry Foundation, was created to accelerate innovative cancer research that will get new therapies to patients quickly and save lives now. Make an impressive gift even more exciting by including this hinged Word Play East Village bracelet in Carnelian ($75.00) with an oval dangle featuring the word “courage.”
