The new year has begun and with it, a look toward SPRING/ SUMMER 2013.  At a recent editor’s event, Redken Creative Consultant and hairstylist Guido Palau defined his four key trends for Spring/Summer 2013 with a focus on what he called “fresh minimalism. ”   Big hair, lots of curls, and fussy hair ornaments are so last season. Texture, sleek styles, messy updos, and ponys, are still looks to love. When it comes to hair, which of these trends will you want to follow?  Here are four to check out and try right now to be ahead of the curve!

“This season, designers wanted to achieve different textures and really push the artistic boundaries of hair. There were a lot of references to the mid-90s, when minimalism came into fashion, and also the 60s. It was about attitude and technique-nothing was left to chance.”
