Q: What’s one essential that everyone at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York gives, and gets?
A: business cards!
Business cards are usually exchanged when you’ve just met someone at a gathering, and they are also invaluable later on, when you can’t quite remember all the contact details about a person that you want to get in touch with again. In the old days, business cards were dull affairs, usually just black text on white stock, but today, even if a digital age, business cards help you make an indelible impression. Of course you want it to be a good one!
At the Holiday Gift Guide Media Event in NYC this Summer, I learned about Snapily, a unique provider of not just business cards, but all sorts of 3-D and flip-animated gifts. This online company lets you easily and affordably transform ordinary digital pictures into 3D and/or flip animated one-of-a-kind photo gifts, delivered in just days.
Business cards are one of the items, offered. As you can see from my photos below, I gave it a try. I went to the webiste, followed three very easy steps to upload two different images (in this case, a photo of my face and the Advice Sisters official logo), added personal information and created an animated flip card with my image and my business’s logo on the front, and my personal contact information on the back, as you’d find on any traditional business card. It couldn’t have taken more than ten minutes, tops! While I had trouble taking good photos to show the precise, animated “flip,” you can get the idea from the originals and the photos of the actual card in this article.
Prices vary by type and amount. My “from scratch” cards cost just a little under $1 a card, including shipping. They arrived in promptly, in perfect shape, just as I had envisioned them.
To be sure, these cards are more expensive than ordinary “bulk” ones, but they will make a unique impression. That could be priceless! In addition, because they are so unique, the recipients are more likely to hold onto them and remember you. It is a worthwhile investment to give to those extra special people that you really want to connect with. Of course, you could use them for personal reasons, too. They’re worth a few extra dollars for the savvy career man or woman who is still “single and looking.”
I’m taking my Snapily business cards to Fashion Week, along with my more traditional ones, but think about Snapily for holiday photo cards, thank you cards, and even scrap-book and notebooks. They’re pretty nifty! In addition to the Snapily website,, these products are available through American Greetings, Snapfish and Ritz & Wolf Camera, among other partners.
