1MORE Headphones give you more quality sound and a lot more style
By Alison Blackman and Anthony Sabatini
The Advice Sisters were excited to receive four unique headphones from 1MORE, a company in San Diego California that offers audiophiles a variety of headphones for their listening pleasure and to suit various budgets. The presentation and styling of these 1MORE headphones is simply stunning. In fact, 1MORE has received a number of prestigious design awards including 2 IF Awards in 2014, the very coveted REDDOT Award in 2015 and the COMPUTEX Innovation Design Award in 2015. 1MORE is providing excellent products for reasonable prices with excellent attention to detail regarding performance, comfort and use-ability features. Our review follows with a “his & hers” view from a more technical appraisal by the Advice Sisters’ Tech Columnist Anthony Sabatini, and some additional comments for the general consumer, from Editor in Chief, Alison Blackman
1MORE Over the Ear Headphones (available in red or black)
Tony’s take on the 1MORE Over the Ear Headphones: These attractive easily adjustable over the ear headphones provide excellent value for the price. They are relatively unique in the over the ear market in that they are designed specifically for use with mobile phones or mobile phone-like music player s such as an iPod. Like the 1MORE earbuds, they would replace, they have an in-line microphone which on the back has a slim button panel which allows you to answer the phone, and perform other functions such as next track ( to use the microphone with many computers however, you need an adapter to split the headphone and the microphone).
The earpieces are designed to sit comfortably on the head but are not totally noise isolating so that you have an awareness of what is happening around you. This is good from a safety point of view if you are not using them exclusively at home.
The sound is very good, faithfully reproducing material at moderate levels, although the sound does improve slightly when the volume is raised, the lower volume level is still a pleasant and accurate experience. These are your over the ear headphones of choice for commuting — lightweight, medium isolation, great sound, good looks, in an environment where a wired headphone is not an issue.
Alison’s take on the 1MORE Over the Ear Headphones: When I first saw these in the box, without knowing anything more about them, I assumed they were extremely expensive. What a shock when I realized they were just $80.00! The 1MOREe headphones were tuned by a Grammy Award winning mixer. All of the 1MORE headphones were created in collaboration with Luca Bignardi,an internationally acclaimed audio engineer and mixer, to complete the final tuning. You get a lot of value and listening pleasure from these beautiful headphones.
But decent sound is only half of the story. If the headphones don’t fit well, you’re not going to wear them. As a woman, I often find that headphones are designed for men, and therefore, they are just a bit large and don’t sit securely on my head. These 1MORE headphones adjust perfectly, Furthermore, the ear cups of these headphones are reasonably well padded and rotate in four directions, so that you can customize them to the perfect position for your ears. The headband is made of shape memory TR-90 titanium steel, flexible, lightweight and sweat resistant.
The style is simply gorgeous. Ours arrived in basic black, but they look like true eye-catchers in red. As a beauty and fashion editor, looking good is a nice plus, and these 1MORE headphones …all of them….really deliver exceptional style along with their sound quality. I really enjoy using these headphones. If there’s one thing that I would like to see improved, it’s a little thing. The slim and easily accsssible dual-system in-line remote control allows for compatibility with both Apple and Android systems which is great, but the three bars have no markings at all. Raised dots, or some sort of marking would help me know what button I’m fumbling for when I’m walking or talking on the phone, or using my iPod. It’s such a simple thing to add a tiny mark on each button. Maybe next time.
Tony’s Take on the1MORE Triple Driver and Double Driver in-ear headphones: The cost: the Triple Driver in-ear headphones are $99.00 and the Dual Driver in-ear headphones are $70.00, otherwise, externally, these two earbuds are very similar. They both sport an in-line microphone with controls, the main portion of the headphone cable is woven to minimize tangles, and the earbud portion itself is lightweight and extremely comfortable. In fact, these are the best fitting and feeling earbuds we have tested yet. Where these two earbuds differ, is in how the sound is reproduced and what impact that has on the wearer. The 1MORE Triple Driver provides excellent sound at normal listening levels. It is more open and accurate than the dual driver at both moderate listening levels and at higher listening levels. Linearity is excellent in that the sound did not improve at higher levels, it was just louder. We very much enjoyed these in-ear headphones both because of the comfort and the excellence of the sound.Highlights:

Dual Driver – The dual driver has very good sound at normal listening levels improving moderately at a higher level with no discernible distortion or resonances. This is a fine, extremely comfortable, well priced and good-sounding set of in-ear headphones and if you already have them or receive them for a gift, there is no reason to replace them. However, if an extra $30.00 is within your budget, the triple drivers sound enough better that we recommend you consider them.
We recommend these in-ear headphones for their moderate price, comfort, good looks, packaging and quality of sound.
Highlights of the 1MORE Dual Driver in-ear Headphones:
Precise ergonomic design. These headphones are ergonomically designed with oblique angles that match your ear canals. This makes the headphones more comfortable to wear and less likely to fall out, leaving you free to enjoy the music.
The EO323 headphones achieve full-frequency range by combining a dynamic driver for powerful bass and a balanced armature for refined mid-range and treble. The result is uncompromising, clear sound quality.
Intelligent control technology is compatible with both Apple and mainstream Android devices. User can turn volume up or down and select between songs with the in-line remote control.
Patented triple layer diaphragm constructed with aerospace-grade metal, for high resolution sound and balanced frequency ranges.
Alison’s take on the 1MORE Triple Driver and Double Driver in-ear headphones: At advicesisters.com we get a lot of tech items to try. Rarely do we quibble over who gets to take them home. When it comes to the triple drivers, both Tony and I loved them and wanted them. Perhaps that’s proof enough that these are the creme de la creme of the 1MORE line and covet-able by audiophiles. The the Dual Drivers, while not quite as excellent are also quite good sound-wise and comfort-wise, they’re just as superior as the Triple Drivers. The in-ear ergonomic design is just so comfortable, I’ve been known to put them in my ears just to keep the noise level down on public transportation, even if I’m not listening to music!
I would be remiss if I didn’t mention how these earbuds were packaged. The outer box presentation is very impressive and elegant — a hard-sided box with a burnished metal magnetic tab that immediately gives you the impression (before you even open the package) that something very expensive and precious is inside. Flip the top of the box open and find the headphones nestled into carved cardboard indentations, the rest of the box festooned with information about the 2015 launch along with graphic drawings of the earbuds (which I assume were drawn by audio engineer, Luca Bignardi). Pull a tab on the top and more boxes underneath this are revealed, each holding one of the accessories for the earbuds, including the hard-sided mini-travel box. This one is a bit bulky, but still small enough to put into your tote or bag. If you’re not using any of these things, store them in the bookshelf-style outer box (you’re definitely not going to want to toss this) because it will fit neatly on your desk or bookshelf.
On a budget? Get These Single Driver in-Ear headphones from 1MORE: For those who want the ultimate in comfort without the high price try the 1MORE $29.00 single driver in-ear headphones. We didn’t test these personally, but they have the same basic design as the 1MORE triple and dual driver models. Included with each pair of headphones are 4 sized sets of silicone ear tips so that you get a customized fit.
AND THERE’S ONE MORE 1MORE to review!
Tony’s take on the 1MORE Crystal in- Ear Headphones: a set of two of these 1MORE Crystal in-ear headphones is $80.00, so they’re really just $40.00 each, packaged in a pair of black and pink. These pretty in-ear headphones share the common 1MORE in-hear headphone refinements such as a woven cord, beautiful packaging, and storage case. In line microphone with three control buttons handling various phone and music features. They arrive with a unique “plastic cushion” into which you can place your earbuds (and store the cord in the back) for pocket or purse. There’s also a fabric drawstring bag if you prefer. But the star feature of these headphones is the very large Swarovski crystal on each earbud in the same color as the cord.
These are single driver headphones, unlike the two others in this review, but they’ve used a piston driver that provides very good high end and mid range sound, but has to compromise with a thinner base response than it’s brethern. For glitz and something special, these can’t be matched. Serious music lovers will likely choose one of the other 1MORE headphones first.
Alison’s take on the 1MORE Crystal in- Ear Headphones: . As a beauty and fashion editor, they were my immediate, first choice. But as a serious audiophile, I prefer the triple and double drivers as there just isn’t enough bass on these to satisfy my ears. That’s not to say they don’t sound good, because they do, but for the money, I’d pick the double drivers, or spend a little more and get the truly great, triple drivers. These headphones are for true glamazons and everyone will want to know where you got them, and want them as well. So, if you want to make a big statement and you’re willing to sacrifice (some) sound quality for glamour, or if you prefer a standard type of earbud because you are just comfortable with that style, these are definitely the most unique and glitzy earbuds around. The plastic “pod” packaging keeps the cords from getting tangled into everything in your purse or tote, and that’s a real plus (the fabric pouch is an extra). You get two in a box so it’s hard to resist.
Any or all of these are not just a treat for yourself, they’d make a great Mothers’ Day, Father’s Day, Graduation or wedding gift. Want 1MORE for yourself?Find them on the 1MORE website
