The 13th may seem unlucky, but April 13th was a lucky day for those of us who love eco-chic at the first BagTrends Green Arm Candy Party (a spinoff of the original BagTrends Arm Candy Party) at the Union Square Ballroom. The event, hosted by the friendly and fabulous co-founders of BagTrends.com, Pamela Pekerman and Michelle Finkelshteyn, were there of course. I attended the press preview, but the event was open to the public (if you RSVP’d in time). Worth it for free drinks, discounts, networking and general fun!
When I left, the place was absolutely buzzing with guests.
Although most of the displays were of handbags (it was BagTrends party, after all), there were a few accessories as well. One of the companies displaying wares to check out and to purchase was Creollus. They have one-of-a-kind accessories and home accents made out of all sorts of natural materials from Brazil. These bracelets are made from rubber inner-tubes.
I also really liked Jane Marvel’s totes and bags (Jane Saidenberg, the designer, is on the left). These are vegan, and lightweight, beautifully made, and under $100!
