It always excites me when I find a new product line that I really love and that I can share with my readers. My Blend, by Dr. Olivier Courtin, is definitely one of those lines. I first reviewed My Blend products in the Advice Sisters May/June What Works Beauty, Cosmetics & Fashion review column and there’s also a review of the My Blend Power Veil SPF 40 – UVA–UVB Infrared Protector in the current Summer What Works column
What’s great about this luxurious line of serious skincare products, is the highly customized formulas with products numbered from 1 (young skin) to 8 (the most mature skin) and in creams and lotions that make anti-aging skincare appropriate for all ages, and most skin types. Even better, the creams and lotions can be enhanced with “boosters” $45.00 each that target specific skincare needs you may have. The boosters include treatments for extra hydration, stress, redness, anti-oxidant, speed relief.
The products are not inexpensive, but well customized skin care doesn’t usually come inexpensively, and visits for facials and to the dermatologist are pricey, too. You really need to understand what “number” you are, but once you do, if you follow a regular routine with these products, you are very likely to see better looking skin (and that’s, priceless). If you can afford good skincare, it’s a “must-have.”
Now, My Blend is debuting a new skincare booster (in Saks Fifth Avenue in October). This review is a sneak peek, but ,I only wish I’d had this recently, when my flight was delayed 18 hours. By the time I got to my destination, my skin looked absolutely dull, dry, grey, itchy…awful ! These days airline travel is absolutely no fun, but the Anti-Jet Lag Relief Emergency Booster can help reduce the stress on your skin, if not on your body and tranquility. This booster can be injected (up to two weeks prior to your trip) into the small “Coffret” sized jar of cream that comes with the regular size cream. Use it a week before you leave, and the week you arrive.
What makes this booster, better? It’s got an exclusive Double AH Complex of two hyaluronic acids that help keep moisture in your skin and these ingredients can penetrate deep into the skin to help build a “water reserve” that supposedly retains 1,000 times it’s own molecular weight (take that, stale, dry, airplane air!) The booster also features green coffee extract (a hot ingredient in skin care right now). It’s a strong antioxidant that also drains toxins from the skin and reduces puffiness in the eye area (great for that early morning wake-up call). It has fractional oat polysaccharides that help smooth lines and wrinkles (good thing), and passionflower extract and cotton seed extract to help calm and soothe irritated skin.
The good news is that this will be available exclusively at Saks Fifth Avenue in NYC and online at http://www.saksfifthavenue.com/ —in October, 2008. We’ll have to sit tight, until then…but
…I think it will be worth waiting for!
