Last year I attended a very interesting and educational BOTOX® Cosmetic event, and learned all about the product. At that event, it was announced that Allergan, (maker of BOTOX® Cosmetic (onabotulinumtoxinA) was donating $250,000 to support Dress for Success, with $50,000 of the total $250,000 donation to be generated through an online drive, with Allergan donating $2 to the organization on behalf of each of the first 25,000 people who visited and registered on the campaign Web site. Campaign Ambassador Vanessa Williams herself hosted a “BOTOX® Cosmetic: Express Success” campaign launch event with Allergan and Dress for Success on June 30, 2009, in New York City’s Union Square.
This year, Allergan is supporting with two other charities as well as Dress for Success. The company is celebrating acts of kindness by launching the BOTOX® Cosmetic My Expressions of Kindness campaign.
Ambassador Didiayer Snyder (carpenter, model and TV personality), known for her roles on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, and Amazing Vacation Homes), along with other Ambassadors including actresses Vanessa Williams and Virginia Madsen; author Vicki Iovine; Olympic athlete Nadia Comaneci, are helping three charities to earn up to $250,000 in donations from BOTOX® Cosmetic:
Make It Right (helping to rebuild New Orleans’ Lower 9th Ward and to be a catalyst for building energy-efficient, affordable green homes across the country after Hurricane Katrina killed more than 1,000 people and destroyed 4,000 homes in New Orleans’ Lower 9th Ward)
Dress for Success (since 1997, Dress for Success® has helped more than 500,000 disadvantaged women work towards self sufficiency. The organization promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life);
The Children’s Action Network (dedicated to finding homes for the more than 123,000 children in the United States who are waiting for an adoptive family and improving outcomes for the more than 500,000 children in foster care)
HERE’S HOW YOU CAN HELP: a mighty mountain can rise from a tiny grain of sand…if there are enough grains put together in one place. If you would like to help these deserving organizations, all you need to do is something simple: your own, simple act of kindness: Go to: http://www.botoxcosmetic.com/expresskindnesscampaign/create-profile.aspx and create your My Expressions of Kindness Profile about the kind things you’ve done to promote acts of kindness. Then, select one of three charities—Make It Right, Dress for Success or the Children’s Action Network, and Allergan will “pay it forward” for your kindness, by donating $25.00 to that charity of your choice. Even better, when you finish your profile (I just did mine at it only takes a few minutes), tweet it and put it on Facebook, and $5.00 more for each goes towards the charity you selected. In total, that’s $30.00.
Imagine: the Advice Sisters alone have more than 1,852 followers on Twitter (@advicesisters) alone. If each of my followers fills out the very quick survey, and then Tweets and FaceBooks that, together we can be part of a very significant donation just from the Advice Sisters’ Twitter followers alone! Imagine how quickly Allergan can get to their goal, with your help, of donating $250,000 to help support the causes of these philanthropic organizations!

A MOMENT OF YOUR TIME, FOR A POTENTIAL LIFETIME OF EFFECT: When was the last time you took just a moment to possibly change someone’s life for the better? Here is a great opportunity. And, be an example to others. Do something today to make life easier, more successful, and more satisfying for the people around you. While you’re on Twitter, why not also inspire others by tweeting your own expressions of kindness at #kindact (FYI: this is called a Twitter “hashtag” and is used to group similar posts into one, easy-to-find “trending topic”. By adding this hashtag to the end of your message, your tweet will automatically be added to the trending topic. It’s also easy to find common messages by searching for #kindact).
