Not long ago, I was having coffee with a friend in a crowded restaurant. I never leave my bag on the floor, not just because it’s not the safest thing to do, but also because floors are dirty (and this one was definitely not going to win any awards for cleanliness). But the tables in this place had really thick tops, and my handbag hook wouldn’t hold it. I was juggling a coat (there was no place to put that, either) and had to put my bag on my lap as well, making for an uncomfortable meal.
Too bad I didn’t have a CLIPA! This is a little, round metal “bracelet” that opens just like a hinged bangle, but it’s not just for decoration. Inside the Clips are two rubberized pads that let you open the “bracelet” and turn it into a handbag holder. I can’t tell you how much easier it is to use a Clipa than anything else. Handbag clips just sit in your bag, adding clutter, adding weight, and taking up space. Clipa is larger than most handbag clips, and if I’d had one with me, I’d have been able to hook my purse right to the table, and feel more secure and comfortable. Another thing about the Clipa that I like is that it is attractive. If you don’t want to wear it on your wrist, you can just hang it from your handbag, and it looks like an intentional accessory. Then, when you get to your destination, you simply unclip it from your bag, and clip it to a tabletop and hand your handbag strap from one end. I’ve used my Clipa on airplanes, in bathrooms, even at concerts, where I needed to keep my bag clean and secure, but I just didn’t feel like holding it anymore.
You can get a plain metal Clipa (MRSP. $19.99), but when you add six sparkling crystals, you get a fancy bracelet that really does look as nice on your wrist as it helps keep your handbag clean and secure. They’re actually comfortable to wear, although all you really need is one to hold your handbag, you could stack them just because they’re pretty! The one I liked was ‘Nicole,” a shiny gold Clipa with clear crystals. You can get this style in Silver (“Jenna) and chic Hematite (“Victoria”). Each has a MSRP. of $39.99. You can also design your own in a rainbow of crystal colors. Believe it or not, there is no extra cost to pick out your own, six colors. The Custom Crystal Clipa ships in just 24-48 hours.
According to an ABC News Report, the handbags we carry, unsuspectingly, can have literally thousands of germs on them. It makes sense that if you put something on the floor, or carry it on the subway or other places where germs are having a field day, that some of them are transferred onto the things you wear. While you wouldn’t touch the bottom of your shoes, and then your face, most women are touching their hand bags, all the time! If you touch the bottom of your purse, then eat a sandwich, those germs are transferred right into your mouth. Check out a few Hand sanitizers I recently recommended on a piece for avoiding (and dealing with) the flu. These would probably help, but most of us either don’t carry them all the time, or forget to use them. A Clipa can go with you, everywhere and you won’t forget to use it!
The bottom line: Clipa is a winner. It’s just superior to every other handbag holder that I have ever tried. All the Clipa styles work the same way. They are sturdy. They’ll actually hold up to 45 pounds (I used my Clipa with a heavy tote bag and my purse at an airport, and it didn’t bend or break). . For those who care, it’s made in the USA. You can even custom design your own. A “mothers” Clipa would make a wonderful, personalized gift for Mother’s Day. They’d make great bridal party gifts, too. Give one to a new mother to keep the diaper bag clean and safe. At least one Clipa is my Spring 2012 “must-have.” I can also think of dozens of reasons to give these clever Clipas.
