A review of the Conture Kinetic Skin Toning System: Suck up some results!
By Alison Blackman
This morning I stowed the last of the holiday “treasures.” Now it’s time to focus on other things, such as: “New Year, New You.”
When it comes to improving the look of skin, especially during the drying Winter months, it takes more than just a little will power.
New Years resolutions are often quickly broken, but when it comes to improving the look of skin, especially during the drying Winter months, it takes more than just a little will power.
Check out the Conture Kinetic Skin Toning System ($199.00). It is a skin enhancing device that supposedly improves skin radiance (by 90%). *advicesisters.com has written a newer review of the products CLICK HERE
It is a skin enhancing device that supposedly improves skin radiance (by 90%). The Conture Kinetic Skin Toning System ) may look space age-y but it’s pretty simple: the dermatologist tested skincare tool uses a pain-free, sonic vacuum system to gently lift and release the skin.
As it employs gentle suction, blood rushes up to the surface of your skin, making it immediately appear a bit flushed.
But it does more than just that:
According to the Conture website, those who use the device regularly twice a day (for about ten minutes each time) showed that in about 8-12 weeks skin not only look more luminous, but there was a visual improvement in face and neck texture, smoothness, and evenness;and some even saw a decrease in crow’s feet, fine lines and wrinkles, and facial firmness.
Immediate results along with the longer term
What drives the Conture Kinetic Skin Toning System is isometric compression combined with ultra-low frequency sonic vibrations to gently stimulate and tone skin for a younger looking appearance.
The Isometric compression is apparently in the form of a gentle vacuum that lifts and releases the skin zone within the treatment cup.
The Conture Kinetic Skin Toning system utilizes Ultra-Low Frequency Vibrations that radiate outward from the treatment cup, which also supposedly helps your skin absorb topicals such as lotions and creams.
Think of it this way: the sucking action stimulates your skin, very much like the positive effects you get in a skin massage.
You can tell the device is properly placed on your skin and working properly when you feel the slight sucking of the vacuum. It feels like someone is gently pinching your face. This technology is similar to the kind of treatment you might find from the professionals in med-spas and skin centers, but Conture is for at-home use.
One of the things I like about the Conture Kinetic Skin Toning System is that it is simple to use and has three support ingredients that help the device work best, but you can ultimately use your own products should you wish. Here’s how easy it is to use it:
START WITH CLEAN SKIN
Conture works best on a clean skin surface so make sure to cleanse your face thoroughly before use to get your ultimate skin rejuvenating results.
SELECT YOUR FOCUS AREA
Decide where to focus your treatment on the face and neck: jawline, jowls + cheeks toning, forehead + brow toning, or neck+ decollete.
The Conture Kinetic Skin Toning System has three modes. The touch screen control panel is super easy to use, allowing you to switch between the three modes:
FACE: for use on jawline, upper lip, chin, jaw, cheek, brown and forehead
MILD: for use on or near delicate skin and under eye area
NECK: for use on neck and décolleté areas
The Kinetic Treatment Serum and the day and night moisturizers are nicely packaged in oxygen-free pumps that lift up from the bottle as you twist. You’ll get a measured amount which I really like. Apply a generous layer (not sure what “generous means,” I just used two pumps), on the desired treatment zone.
Do not rub in as the serum as it helps the Conture device glide along the skin (don’t wait too long either, or the serum tends to dry, so just add it where you need it until ready to move to the next area you want to treat).
Another plus is the easy power buttons that are clearly marked and work with a simple press.
To use the device, press the power button on the back of the device and choose the best mode or your focus area.
“FACE” is the default setting and works for most, but you can easily switch back and forth. *there are two rubber tips for this device.
The one with the hole in the middle is for specific areas such as around the nose but the one with the oval opening is the one used for most of the face.
Now it’s time for the toning!
Use the device with a lifting upward motion for a minimum of 2-3 minutes at a time per zone.
You will know that the device is properly placed and working as you feel the slight suction.
COMPLETE THE TREATMENT
Complete your treatment by applying either the Kinetic AM Ignition Lotion, or PM Recovery crème.
Both are excellent, just for their moisturizing benefits.
The PM Recovery Creme is my particularly favorite, as it contains a unique blend of encapsulated Retinol, Longevicell, and Adaptonyl.
They work together to dramatically improve skin barrier function and the skins own ability to remain healthy and at peak performance).
If you have used up the day and night products contained in your kit, you can use other favorite products.
What I liked The Most
In all fairness, it weeks to see results, and I never have the luxury of trying anything that long.
But I did use it enough to like it a great deal. The device is user friendly.
Even though there is a serum to apply before using the tool, the other two products are day and night moisturizers — things you’d probably use anyway.
The device itself must make contact with your skin or there is no suction. It took a little practice on areas of my face that curve, otherwise that was easy, and not unpleasant as well.
A few things to know
The suction will make your skin flush pink while you’re using it and, for a short while afterward, which initially alarmed me. But the redness calms down quickly, leaving skin feeling and looking temporarily plumped and radiant.
You have to commit to using the device for weeks before you really see longer lasting benefits, and there is really no way I can personally quantify for you just how much better the absorption of other products is while using the Contour device.
Twice a day at ten minutes each session, won’t be a hardship for some, but for others, the time and effort involved would be a deal-breaker.
At $200, it still costs less than a bunch of salon treatments or a visit to a doctor’s office, but whether or not you will find it the right tool for your skin and lifestyle, is a personal choice.
If you’re looking for something new to try, this one certainly should catch your eye.
You can find the Conture Complete System at retailers such as Bloomingdales, Macys, and Sephora and lots of other places, but you can also get it on the Conture Web Site where they have special offers and free shipping.
