COVERGIRL Melting Pout Matte Lipsticks ($6.99-$8.99) are new and highly pigmented liquid formula for lips that doesn’t feel sticky and won’t weigh you down. It’s touted to last up to 24 hours. We don’t suggest keeping your makeup on for a full day, but depending on your activities, it can last through most or all of your day.
Our samples were four natural colors: Champagne Showers, Coral Chronicles, Ballerina, Current Nude, All look simply flesh-toned in the tubes, but each has a pink, peach, rose or neutral tone.
For a brighter color, we liked “All NIghter,” a cool mix of red and hot pink, and “Secret,” a soft but deep berried rose The other colors are Back Talk, Never Say Never, Seismic, Paradise Lost, Super Model and Gray Matter.
New and addictive! COVERGIRL Vitalist Healthy Elixir Lip Oil Vitalist Tinted Lip Oil (srp. under $7). Skincare oils are so trendy and popular, but they pack a super emollient punch to parched lips. They’re a hybrid of color and treatment.
Most lips oils are transparent but these offer more than just a hint of tint along with a bunch of nourishing oils to hydrate, condition and smooth.
In our photo are five of six tints: Melon Granita (baby pink), Grape Juice (light purple-y pink), Orange Zest (sheer citrus), Berry Libation( (neutral pink), and Cherry Crush looks really red in the tube but is hot pink on lips. Missing from our photo is Guava Goodness (a very light pink).
You might also wear them over another lip color...try it!
New for Faces
You’ll see the COVERGIRL Trueblend pre-Touching Palette Warm ($8.99-$11.99) in our photo below for the sake of the photo. Before you add your foundation or powder touch up flaws/color correct with this three threesome of yellow, green or purple.
This user-friendly product can be applied with a brush or fingertip, and easily blendable.
Yellow evens discoloration, Green reduces spots of redness, and purple brightens sallow skin tones. You may not need all or even one all of the time, but when you do, this is an affordable palette that does the job well.
We really like the COVERGIRL Vitalist Healthy Concealer (srp. $8.99-$11.99) with Vitamins E, B3 & B5 and a silky formula that blends better than any we’ve tried in a while.
The concealer pen with brush tip is good to use even if you have sensitive skin and it’s dermatologically tested. Our tester was one of the six colors: “Light/Medium” which was almost a perfect match to our light/medium skin. There’s also Fair, Light, Medium, Medium/Deep and Deep.
This new powder is a bit of a hybrid because it is so silky is covers flaws like a finishing powder and has that Vitalist formula with Vitamins E, B3, B5 and some minerals in 4 color from medium light to medium deep.
If you use the included sponge applicator in the bottom of the mirrored compact you get mediu coverage, but you can dust it on with a fluffy brush to get a more sheer look.
New For Eyes
So new, so wow! Counterclockwise, starting to the top left of the Trueblend Pre-Touching Palette for the face we have the TRUENAKED Smoky Eye Palette (Srp. $9.99-$12) with eight shades to make a modern smoky eye.
Three shades are matte, the others are satins or shimmer. It’s a true bargain for the price, and the colors are wear-able grays plums and neutrals.
Not everyone knows what colors to use or how to master the looks but COVERGIRL added three eye looks with the right colors and placement for day, night and statement you can follow right from the back of the compact!.
No eye looks these days is complete without eyeliner. COVERGIRL Get in Line Liquid Eye Liner ($7.99-$10.49) makes it easier to do the liner you love in magazines, but cant’ quite manage with a traditional liquid pen.
The teardrop-shaped base separates to a very fine line brush tip with a long handle tapered to fit your hand with a super grip. You can remove the quick dry formula easily with soap and water. Try Black Vinyl or Bold Brown.
Don’t forget your brows. The Easy Breezy Brow Micro-Fine + Define Pencil (approx $8.99) has a micro fine tip doesn’t require sharpening. A spoolie on the other end of the pencil grooms brows.
Our sample was “Soft Brown” which was fine for anything but the lightest brows. For even more control with color, try new a nifty brow product called COVERGIRL Easy Breezy Brow Sculpt Set (srp. approx $11.99) in four shades: Soft Blonde, Soft Brown, Hoey Brown and a very deep Rich Brown.
This clever product tints brows with color and keeps them under control with pomade. The creamy gel formula sets and colors in one stroke with an angled brush. Remove it easily with soap and water.
