Daisy by Marc Jacobs Silver Edition
The best reason to purchase a fragrance is because you love the way it smells, but when it comes to packaging, sometimes the packaging alone is enough to make you want the fragrance so much, you’ll think about purchasing it even before you smell it!” That certainly was the case when the first Daisy by Marc Jacobs scent arrived on the scene, and then re-invited itself into solid fragrances the doubled as jewelry (the Advice Sisters reviewed several Daisy items in our What Works Beauty, Cosmetics & Fashion review columnas: Daisy Eau de Toilette; Daisy Solid Perfume Ring and: Daisy Solid Fragrance Necklace
This September, there’s going to be a new version of the Daisy Scent; Daisy Silver Edition, and it’s simply, stunning!
The outer box is a shiny silver metallic cardboard, bordered in a pretty daisy chain of gold flowers. This outer box is chic and impressive, but there’s something even better, inside. The fragrance bottle is when something special–something simply gorgeous! While the original bottle was a must-have collectible, a curvy rectangle of clear glass with a spray of white daisies with golden centers, covering the atomizer cap, this new, silver version has a silver, metallic finish on the bottle with a spray of gold daisies with silver centers. covering the atomizer top. The front is unadorned, except for the words “Daisy” with “Marc Jacobs.” The other side hasn’t any writing and it looks like a sculpture. It is a bottle bouquet you can display anywhere in your home for a touch of whimsy (and a quick touch-up of the lovely scent). Statement pieces are “in” this season. Marc Jacobs, definitely knows that his latest version of Daisy Marc Jacobs will be noticed.
But the bottle was so exciting, I still haven’t gotten to describing the actual fragrance. Created by Firmenich perfumer Alberto Morillas, this scent makes a statement, too…. on your skin. The Daisy Silver Edition features the same concentrated notes as the original, Daisy Eau de Parfum. The vibe is floral and feminine, but not overly sweet. There is fresh wild strawberry, violet leaves, and ruby red grapefruit, mixed with a floral heart of jasmine petals, violet petals, and gardenia. The florals, however, are tempered with a drydown of creamy musks, that leave you with just enough sensual notes to keep sniffing your pulse points. The scent is noticeable, but not intrusive. It’s light and fresh: a modern floral. But it’s not girly or grandma, it’s just right. It has enough substance to work with heavier fabrics when the weather cools down. delicate and unobtrusive.
Daisy Marc Jacobs Silver Edition will be available soon, in September. Find it at fine department stores. It’s $88.00 for a 3.4 fl. oz. Eau de Parfum Spray. Not bad for a year-round fragrance that looks gorgeous even before you apply it. Run to your nearest department store when it’s available and get yours.
