The Advice Sisters reviewed the original, Donna Karan Cashmere Mist fragrance long ago, We loved the woodsy, slightly spicy scent that is light enough to wear all over your body, all year long. It has a sensual but feminine blend of Lily of the Valley, Suede Notes, Bergamot, Ylang, Jasmine Maroc, Sandalwood, Orris, Amber, Vanilla, Cedarwood, Patchouli, and Musk. But time, and technology, march forward.
This Summer, Donna Karan has introduced four new “Ultimate Cashmere” items scented with Cashmere Mist, and with something else that is quite remarkable: A fast-acting, advanced technology that helps to erase the sigtns of aging, and reduce the appearance of cellulite, and even help to increase the firmness of skin. The four new pieces include the Ultimate Cashmere Sculpting and Firming Body Serum; the Ultimate Cashmere Renewing Hand Treatment Creme; the Ultimate Cashmere Body Treatment Creme for Shoulders, Neck and Decolletage; and the Ultimate Cashmere Moisturizing Bronzing Gelee.
I tried a few of these “body products with benefits” My favorite is the Hand Treatment Creme $35.00 4.2 oz. This truly luxurious hand cream in a flip-top tube is richly scented with Donna Karan Cashmere Mist fragrance, and that would be enough for me to recommend it, even though it’s pricey. But it also has a very hydrating formula that silkens skin quickly and makes even dry, dull, aging skin look firm and plump and youthful. The hand treatment incorporates an advanced, anti-spot technology using yeast extract, Scutelleria Baicalensis Extract, and Vitis Viniferia (grape) extract, plus olive oil extract, linleic acid and limanthes alba seed oil. This may sound like a lot of exotic ingredients, coupled with some tried and true ones, but it really does seem to “renew” hands, impressively well. *I didn’t try the Treatment Creme for Shoulders, Neck and Decolletage, but it has similar ingredients, plus Acetyl Glucosamine and cholesterol that are supposed to help smooth away roughness for a more supple and glowing appearance. At $60.00 for 5.9 oz. this is a luxe product, but if it works as well as the Hand Treatment, I’d definitely recommend it. Ask at your favorite department store if there are samples available to give it a try before you buy.
Cellulite is one of the most difficult things to reduce, let alone, eliminate. No matter what product you use, at any price point, it will be a task that requires a lot of dedication to get the result. The Ultimate Cashmere Sculpting and Firming Body Serum, 6.7oz, $50.00 is supposed to improve the appearance of cellulite –but it will take you a whopping 12 weeks to supposedly see results. And, at $50 per beautifully scented pump bottle, it is going to cost you, too as one bottle isn’t going to cover all your problem areas for all those weeks and months (and then there is maintenance, too). The key ingredients are Creatine (encourages water retention in fat cells –in other words, it puffs up your skin) and Caffeine (dehydrates fat cells); while Aminopropyl Ascorbyl Phosphate and Lady’s Thistle (Silybum Marianum — a skin conditioner) Fruit Extract that supposedly will help make your cellulite-dimpled target areas look smoother and more defined over time. If you have the time and the money, there’s no harm in luxuriating in the sensational scent of Donna Karan Cashmere Mist while you massage the serum into your skin. but you may have better, or at least different, choices in how you want to spend your time and money.
Instantly Satisfying is the The Ultimate Cashmere Moisturizing Bronzing Gelée, $35.00 5.0 fl. oz. The flip top tube dispenses a shimmery but subtle “kiss” of golden bronze color that looks surprisingly genuine. One of my main issues with body bronzersbronzer gilds your body not just with long lasting color, but also with the scent of Donna Karan Cashmere Mist and the benefits of Hyaluronic Acid to deliver instant moisturization. Your skin, especially your legs, will look more toned with a bit of “tan” and shimmer. Skin never had it so good!
The Donna Karan Ultimate Cashmere body treatments are available for a limited time at select fine department stores — get yours now before they’re all gone!
