What I like so much about EMK Placental is that at least for me, the products seem to have immediate and somewhat dramatic, positive effects. I’ve tried everything from a hand cream to day and night creams. I need to clarify, right now, that just because I’m gaga over something doesn’t mean it’s going to work as well for someone else. This is just my personal experience with the products. But I do review a lot of skin care items, and when I find something that seems remarkable, I’m excited about it. Just keep in mind that whether you spend ten dollars, or a hundred dollars or more, the product(s) need to be right for your skin, and used properly and regularly to see a good result.
EMK Placental has just come out with a new Live Anti-Aging Facial Mask 2 oz. $45.00 (there is a 4 fl., oz tube as well) that is supposed to tone, firm, and hydrate. It has the bio-identical placenta that is in all the EMK products, and it also exfoliates dull dead skin layers, tightens slack ‘gravity prone’ skin, helps repair UV and environmental damage, hydrates and helps skin to glow. That is a lot of ask of a facial mask in the 10-minute treatment!
The first thing I noticed about the mask is that it is white in the flip-top tube (and smells like yummy, Mexican vanilla) but goes on fairly light and clear. As someone who doesn’t like walking around with masks that are black or green or some other scary color, this makes the 10-15 minutes you keep the mask on your face, much more pleasant. It also has a nice, cooling effect (you can feel it tightening just a bit). The one thing I didn’t like is the directions don’t say how much to use. Since $45.00 seems reasonable if you’re just using a little bit, but not so much if you only get a few treatments out of the tube, I was wondering how thoroughly to cover my face with the product.
While I waited for the mask to do it’s magic, I checked to see what else was in the mask. Much of what’s in it is also in the high-priced skin creams: Chitosan (to help enhance dermal delivery of bioactive antioxidants and placental protein to help stimulate the production of essential collagen and elastin); Seabuckthorn Fruit Oil ( to help regenerate skin’s natural collagen and elastin and help prevent inflammation that can lead to puffiness and redness); Super potent antioxidants (to protect skin from the ravages of UV damage and environmental stress that lead to the breakdown of the skin’s youthful structure); and Vitamins A & E along with clinically proven anti-aging peptides rebuild skin’s essential structure while deeply nourishing and moisturizing.
The mask is gentle enough for all types of skin. You don’t even have to have “mature” skin to get a glow and a better looking complexion. Although my own skin looks pretty good thanks to Fraxel treatments, this mask made it look smoother and less irritated from the cold and wind I’ve been subjecting it to. Yes, it’s another “hit” for EMK Placental.
