Even on a meager beauty budget, you can enjoy trendy and unique products. One brand that always satisfies our need for new and unique is essence cosmetics.
We already reviewed some of the new Spring 2018 essence cosmetics Lip Products. This Feature is all about the face.
I’ve included them in my photo even though this is a face-centric feature because they’re just so much fun! Read about Kiss the…lipsticks and what makes them so unique.
Fresh & Fit Primer
A facial primer helps keep your skin smooth, and your foundation longer lasting.
That’s why I like the new essence cosmetics Fresh & Fit Face Awake Primer ($5..99) with the same skin loving ingredients as the Fresh & Fit Awake foundation we’re suggesting next.
Help your skin stay healthy with an infusion of Vitamin complex (Vitamins B3 Vitamin E and Provitamin B5) and cranberry water.
I don’t usually wear face primer without another product, but this one illuminates your skin just a bit, so you can wear it over or under other face tints and foundations.
I love the essence Fresh & Fit Awake Make Up ($6.99) which I applied with the Essence Super Sili Make-Up Pad ($4.99).
It’s a light to medium coverage foundation dispensed from a glass pump bottle (great that you can see the actual color you’re getting).
For Spring into Summer when you want coverage, but nothing as heavy as a full face foundation, it’s fabulous.
Light reflecting pigments give your skin a bit of a glow, helping to boost Winter-weary complexions.
For my test, I tried the foundation colors from lightest to deepest: Fresh Ivory (lightest) Fresh Nude Fresh Honey and Fresh Sun Beige.
Although I expected the tones to reflect the traditional color descriptions, they really didn’t. I found my best match for light/medium skin tones was actually the third deepest (Fresh Honey), not ivory or beige, as usual.
The two lightest colors had a sallow tone and the deepest (Fresh Sun Beige) wasn’t dark enough for truly darker skin but too dark for light/medium complexions. To get a great fit, you really have to try a tester, but you can wear this foundation fairly sheer so it’s more forgiving, or enhance the color with a bronzer.
There’s nothing “silly” at all about the essence cosmetics Super Silil Make-Up Pad. It’s a really cool idea.
The tapered egg shape has a soft point that is great for touch up and getting into those places that foundation never seems to flow smoothly (e.g. nose).
It takes some practice to use it, but this cruelty-free silicone pad doesn’t absorb any of the liquid or cream makeup so you don’t waste it. Just wash off the residue with soap and water.
It’s the cleanest and most travel-friendly applicator I’ve tried. It even has its own slim plastic envelope for travel.
