A sure sign of Spring is a new lineup of pastel nail colors. Wear Nail Polish colors from Essie’s ART of SPRING Collection, launching this month, and you’ll feel like the Easter Bunny has just landed! The six latest shades are very feminine and pretty, and a perfect antidote to the dramatic but deep, blackened palette of Winter.
Several coats of each will give you a touch of a Spring bouquet, right now. The collection is:
Pop Art Pink, a sheer chiffon pink (for “Ballet Slippers” fans)
Lilacism, a creamy, clear lilac (the perfect Easter Egg color and it works well with the end-of-Winter wools, too)
Neo Whimsical, a romantic, warm, creamy, slightly faded dusty plum
Van D’go, a yummy, light melon that looks like it has been whipped with cream
Tart Deco: a light coral that looks ripe and rich, and just bright enough
Red Nouveau: a smooth, chili pepper red that is just a bit brighter and warmer the red for warmer weather
Each of these gorgeous colors is $8.00. and the Advice Sisters hear that there’s a 4 pc mini set avilable with: Pop Art Pink, Lilacism, Tart Deco, and Red Nouveau
I always catch a glipse (and sometimes get a nod hello) of Essie Weingarten (President & founder of Essie Cosmetics Ltd.) during Fashion Week. She always creates her latest and greatest based on runway trends for the season. “When I go to the fashion shows, I don’t just see clothes, I see artistic expression and color. Art and fashion go hand in hand, and this season’s collections reminded me of the pop art fashion explosion. My spring color collection is a reflection of that movement,” explains Essie. The light, creamy, pastels of the ART of SPRING Collection work well with the flurries of tulle, silk and organza, that flowed alongside crepe skirts, linen kimonos and shantung gowns in never-ending shades of lilac, rose and cerise. They look great with a little party dress, or your business suit.
If you’ve read my bi-monthly, What Works Beauty, Cosmetics & Fashion review columns, you know that for years, I’ve been a huge fan of Essie Nail Polish and products. All Essie nail polishes are 3-free –No DBP, formaldehyde, or toluene. The colors range from classic to trendy, and they apply easily and wear well. They’re one of the top choices in salons and spas, everywhere. In fact, I recently visited a new, very upscale spa, and the Manager told me that she stocked Essie for manicures because “when women come in here they are upset if we don’t have their favorite Essie colors. They have to have their Essie!” TIP: for a longer lasting manicure, Essie suggests using a base, like “First Base” Base Coat and top coat, like “Good to Go!” The base coat prepares the polish to adhere, and the top coat seals in color. Also, wait 2 minutes in between color applications so that the polish can set. A few days later, apply “Shine-e” to refresh polish to a top shine finish.
