My favorite New York designer, Esther Nash, had a runway show at BK Fashion Week (End) this season. Her Baby Doll Sugar Daddy clothing line has the type of styles that hip, young socialites and celebrities (any any woman who liked to stand out), dreams about! Esther (on the far left in the photo) posed with some of her models before the show. In an unusual move, she also walked the runway, along with her sister, Shelly Nash.
Fort Greene is easily accesible, but I wasn’t sure what to expect at BK Fashion Week(End). I was surprised at how professional the event was. But there is always room for a little more practice..in this photo Shelly Nash gives some pointers to a model about how to work the runway.
The second show of the evening was Ms. Nash’s. She had an impressive collection of distinctive, colorful, and wearable (although it helps to be in good shape) clothes. Her one-of-a-kind T-shirts often feature her logo or likeness, and are extremely eye-catching, especially paired with embellished Baby Doll Sugar Daddy line denim skirts, pants, and minis.
Ms. Nash said she was aiming for a “princess” vibe and that certainly fit the bejeweled headbands, jean jackets and T-shirts. But the mostly denim-oriented, urban-casual clothes also featured jewels, buttons, stars, and fringe, prompting one show-goer to suggest that the theme was more a cute and glam take on “cowboys and indians.”
