A “Bohemian” is either a native of Bohemia, and it’s also used to describe person with artistic or literary interests who disregards conventional standards of behavior.
A “Rhapsody is a musical composition that is highly intense and emotional in it’s character.
For the always-trendy and fabulous, FACE Stockholm, Bohemian Rhapsody is the name of their “pink-centric” makeup collection. It’s a “Bohemian twist on a classical theme (definitely not the Bohemian Rhapsody by Freddie Mercury), but instead, inspired by the ethereal, innocent beauty of the paintings of the Pre-Raphaelites.

The palette is mostly pink — clear and bright, but not garish. I got a chance to sample just about every piece of this lovely collection, and you can see those pieces in the photo, above. The photos below are representative of the products, but they are NOT the colors in the collection. My notes are in hot pink, describing the colors and textures, and how you might get the most out of them.
Lipstick in “Romance” $22.00
FACE Stockholm description: “a “face lift” in a tube! Perfect rich creme coverage in a multitude of delectable sheer, shimmer and non-shimmer shades, for everyday, evening or a special event. Wear one at a time or couple to create a shade that is uniquely you. Pair with FACE Stockholm Lip Pencil or Lip Gloss to intensify color or add high-voltage shine. With over 100 colors to choose from, the possibilities seem endless.”
*this medium pink lipstick has plenty of “girly” appeal, but it’s not so light and frosty that it looks too “young.” It’s the color of a robust tea rose! Flattering to just about every skin tone.
ROZ lip pencil $17.00
FACE Stockholm description: “A collection of soft, smooth rich colors to define, enhance, and compliment our Lipstick and Lip Gloss shades. Beautiful worn alone with just a touch of Vitamin E, Treatment, or Vitamin C for moisture.”
FACE Stockholm’s pencils tend to be long lasting, but they’re not super-soft or blendable. This means they keep a precise line. This particular color called “ROZ” is the perfect compliment to the frosty pink, “Romance” lipstick.
Lip Gloss #01 (Clear) $19.00
FACE Stockholm description: “This essential lip product slips easily over lips with our wand applicator for, take-anywhere, dewy texture and shine. Available in a range of shimmer, non-shimmer, sheer and saturated shades for gorgeous color that can be worn alone or over FACE Stockholm Lip Pencil or Lipstick. A must-have lip accessory.”
*FACE Stockholm lip glosses have brush tips and super-shiny formulas, without any gimmicks such as flavor or fancy packaging, but the glosses are long lasting and just a bit “sticky” so they don’t migrate into those tiny crevices in more mature lips. The one for the Bohemian Rhapsody collection is completely clear, and just adds a pouty, sexy accent to the “Romance” lipstick, or any lip color you have in your collection. It really is a must-have.
RIO Creme blush Creme Blush $25.00
FACE Stockholm description: “Drop dead gorgeous pots of smooth, creamy blush for a natural, healthy glow. Apply with fingertip, sponge or one of our nylon brushes. Pair darker and lighter shades to contour and highlight.”
The color blush in the Bohemian Rhapsody collection is not this bright orange, but it is a hot, bright fuchsia. This blue-based pink flatters cool complexions. It can be worn as a very sheer, light wash of color — just a happy flushed look–or you add several layers for more color.
Eye Pencil “Black” $17.00
FACE Stockholm description: “A collection of soft, smooth, rich colors to define, enhance and compliment our Eye Shadow shades. Perfect for lining top, bottom and inner eye, as well as brow coloring.”
Like the lip pencil, the FACE Stockholm eye pencils leave a bold, precise line. Black is always a must-have, but there are literally several dozen different FACE Stockholm eye pencil colors to add to your eye pencil collection. Each is long wear, too!
Matte Shadow in “Sophisticated” $20.00
FACE Stockholm description: “Velvety smooth and hyper-pigmented Matte Eye Shadows come in an array of colors, to enhance and accentuate the windows to your soul! The versatile range of colors allows you to mix and match classic neutrals, or the latest fashion hues, to shade, shadow and define, creating a look that is truly your own. With superb blend ability, these shadows are long lasting and easy to apply. “
*”Sophisticated” is NOT this green matte shadow (although it’s a nice one). The Bohemian Rhapsody features bold lips and cheeks, so you may want to tone down the eyes. This “Sophisticated” color is a cool, very light beige that can be used as a light lid color, or a browbone accent. Worn all over the eye with a deep, black line, you get a modern take on that mod, 60’s look.
#26 Pearl Shadow $19.00
FACE Stockholm description: “A collection of velvety smooth jewel-like shades, each with just the right amount of subtle shimmer, to wear day or night. These user-friendly shadows, can be worn alone for transparent, twinkling shimmer, or layered with our Matte Eye Shadows for a variety of effects. Apply with brush or finger tip.”
FACE Stockholm’s Pearl Shadow is subtly frosty, not uber metallic-y. For the Bohemian Rhapsody collection, the color is not this wild pink, but instead, it’s a wearable, deep, dirty taupe that compliments the matte beige “Sophisticated” shadow. Wear it as a deep liner, or as a lid color. It works well for both.
“Sensitive” Eye Dust $22.00
FACE Stockholm description: “Fine, loose sparkling powder with diamond intensity. These, soft translucent shades, add subtle highlights during the day, or dramatic evening glamour. Available in a myriad of jewel-like shades to apply wet or dry for a variety of smooth, shimmering styles. Eye Dusts are a fun, versatile product that can be used for more than just eyes. With a little sprinkle you can add a touch of magic to your day and a little glimmer to your look. Mix with moisturizer, foundation.”
*the eye dust in the FACE Stockholm Bohemian Rhapsody collection is NOT blue, it is a gorgeous, super-frosty, Winter white-pink with just the merest hint of mauve to keep it from being harsh. This looks lovely on eyelids, but dab a tiny bit in the middle of your bottom lip to make it super pouty (really, it works)! This lovely light pink would also be fantastic mixed in with a little body moisturizer–very sexy (perfect for Valentine’s Day).
#28 Nail Polish $12.00
FACE Stockholm description: “Exclusive three-free formula contains no DPT, no Tulene and no Formaldehyde and is available in a variety of long-lasting hues to bejewel your fingers and toes! A full spectrum of sheer iridescence, deep color, glitter and treatments to take you from classic to cutting edge with just a few brush strokes.”
The nail polish simply called #28 is an iridescent, light frosted pink that looks like the inside of a beautiful seashell. It is a perfect color for fingers and toes, for special occasions (think: bridal) and because it is so sheer, so you can wear it for days without worrying about chipping of fading. You can add more layers for more color, but I like the one-coat with a shiny topcoat as-is. The square FACE Stockholm nail polish bottles are easy to grip, and stack neatly on a shelf.
Excited about Bohemian Rhapsody! So am I!! The best news is that it is available now in your favorite FACE Stockholm store or makeup counter. Also check out FACE Stockholm’s web site!
