” Gorgiality” isn’t just a phrase
It is a new concept of beauty
Be inspired by it with a new book called Gorgiality by Erez Sabag.
This book arrived just after The Advice Sisters had published the latest of our book review roundups just a couple of weeks ago and the official book launch is May 11th, so I want to share this with you in time for gifting that special woman (perhaps “mom?”).
Erez started his career as a fashion photographer as a teenager, but he’s developed his talent also as a director and multi-
The stunning color photographs in this oversized, suede-covered coffee table book represent not just Sabag’s vision of beauty, but also of the other artists and models who represent their vision of what beauty norms are, and demonstrate that every woman is “an inspiration.” I’m not showing you specific photos but you can check the video below for a sneak peek.
Gorgiality is a collaborative effort of Erez Sabag as a photographer, art director David Warren, makeup artist Georgina Billington, stylist Edda Gudmundsdottir, and the models, who were asked to ditch pre-existing ideas of stereotypical beauty and add their own ideas to the process.
An Instagram video:
You might be surprised at your own reactions to some of the photos, because they’re beautiful but not the usual “red carpet” celebrity clone beauty shots.
It shows a unique point of view of what beautiful means. Erez Sabag calls:” Gorgiality.”
You can’t help but admire the creativity of the project, as you scroll through the pages.
I found it inspirational to see how other professionals in the beauty business look at the essence of beauty. It may motivate you to look within to see where your own Gorgiality resides.
Every woman has Gorgiality, they just have to bring it out in their own, fearless way.
GORGIALITY gives back:
Profits from the book sales will be donated to the Look Good Feel Better Foundation. For nearly three decades, Look Good Feel Better has been helping people with cancer cope with the appearance side effects of their treatment. Since 1989, the program has empowered nearly 1 million women in the United States to reclaim the sense of control, confidence and self-esteem offering complimentary group, individual and online beauty sessions that include lessons on skin care and cosmetics, nail care, wigs and turbans, accessories and styling to help people with cancer regain some normalcy in a life that is by no means normal.
The book launches officially on May 11th which might be a bit late for Mothers’ Day but give it to that special person when you do see her. Or, get this for your weekend hostess this Summer instead of the usual bottle of wine. She’ll get to enjoy a lot longer!
