Candles are always an appropriate, appreciated gift, and a mood-adjuster. You can light one up for well…light (great for blackouts), use them for ambiance (so romantic), mask an odor (cat box smell–be gone!) or you can simply enjoy the look and scent of a beautiful, high end candle because it’s a little thing you can do for yourself to feel pampered, special, relaxed….whatever!
Today I’m suggesting a special candle from Gianna Rose Atelier in a keepsake wooden box. It’s is way more than just “a light.” The box is a stury chunk of hinged wood — a shiny, white square, beautifully decorated with an all-over design, depending upon which scent you choose. Mine, redolant with the scent of gardenia and jasmine, featured a delicate, lush vine of flowers, in soft gold. Of course, this lovely box is re-useable for little treasures but the large, square, ivory soy and vegetable wax blended candle (with a cotton wick) will last a long time. In fact, this hand poured candle in it’s lovely, thick, clear glass votive has a whopping, 50-hour burn time. That makes the $35.00 pricetag more reasonable. I can see giving this to a bride-to-be to enjoy on her honeymoon, or even at the ceremony, but I also think it makes a great gift for your hard-working weekend host/hostess this Summer.
If feminine, romantic gardenia and jasmine doesn’t suit you, there’s a clementine, grapefruit and green tea-scented version, along with orchid and honeysuckle; and tea leaf and verbena. While these are currently available at Caswell-Massey stores and at Caswell-Massey online, I’d consider stocking up now — the holidays will be here before we know it.
