March 22nd, is World Water Day, in case you didn’t know. On March 21, 2011, Giorgio Armani debuted his fragrahnces live on HSN with several shows, and then another, on March 22nd. the What’s Acqua For Life campaign is a fun-raising and awareness program for safe, clean drinking water for children in need. Acqua for Life is a campaign by Giorgio Armani Fragrances to support the UNICEF Tap Project in an effort to help UNICEF improve access to safe, clean water for children around the globe.
Clean water is essential, yet nearly 900 million people worldwide lack access to it – and nearly half of those people are children. Reducing the number of people without access to safe water and basic sanitation will save children at risk of waterborne illness, the second highest cause of preventable childhood deaths. Every day 22,000 children die of preventable causes, and UNICEF is committed to doing whatever it takes to make that number zero.
If you have never smelled Aqua di Gio for men, or Acqua di Gioia for women, you’re missing a rare treat. Acqua di Gio by Giorgio Armani is a beautiful blend of citrus and marine scents, introduced in 1997. It’s fresh and free spirited, but masculine. Top Notes: Bergamot, lemon, lime and mandarin – Heart Notes: Coriander, marine, freesia and cyclamen and the base note are Cedar, patchouli, moss and musk
The women’s scent. Acqua di Gioia, has some similarities, namely a freshness and a melange of marine and citrus notes. But Acqua di Gioia has more fruit and I think it’s just perfect for warm weather wear. This fresh, aquatic fragrance, whose name means “water of joy,” captures the simple happiness of a place where the deep, blue-green Mediterranean Sea meets the sun and the earth. I am told that the scent was inspired by the far away islands where Giorgio Armani replenishes his spirit. Top Notes: Cool mint, warm brown sugar, zesty Italian lemon , mid notes Floral jasmine, dew of peony and traces of pink pepper , and bottom notes: Cedarwood and herbaceous labdanum
