September is Ovarian Cancer month, and October is Breast Cancer month, but Cervical Cancer is another potential killer of women. January, however, is Cervical Health Awareness Month. The good news is that Cervical Cancer is preventable (with a new vaccine that’s available to young women) and treatable and survive-able, (if diagnosed early with regular pap smears).
But like every disease, support and education goes a long way towards saving lives. That is why celebrity makeup artist Debra Macki has created an Eye Shadow Palette $36.00 in support of The Yellow Umbrella Organization. The Yellow Umbrella is an organization that helps empower and educate women about cervical cancer, so that fewer will suffer and/or die from the disease.
I love products that “give back” while they make you look good. And this trio of silky, powder shadows will make you look good and do good. It consists of universally flattering tones created with saturated mineral pigments that are fragrance, talc, and paraben free. The colors were inspired by Monaco: a medium nude shimmer, a soft, medium plum, and a deep, purple/blue with starry gold sparkle.
Ms. Macki knows her stuff, and she makes wonderful products. These eye shadow blend beautifully and are truly glamorous. If you break down the cost, they large rounds of shadow are just $12.oo each–a real value. And, you can also feel great, knowing that 80% of the cost of your Debra Macki Eye Shadow Palette will directly support The Yellow Umbrella. Why not get one for Mom for Mother’s Day…and of course, get one for yourself, too.
