It’s rare for me to try just one lip gloss, and then write a feature about it. ButI’m in love with Lancome’s Gloss in Love, and I want you all to know it! This silky gloss with semi-sheer coverage gives your lips not just 6 hours of moisture, but also a patent-leather line that looks pretty, not trashy
It isn’t just the 18 glossy shades that have me gushing, it’s the unique wand that lets you get line/color in one swipe, and the tube itself, that literally pops open with the touch of a button. In other words, push the button on the side of the silvery top and the wand pops up, no need to use both hands to remove the wanded top from the tube. One handed operation in a chic package–I’ve never seen a presentation like this!
The gloss wand is also unique. It looks like a little, curved “bite” has been taken out of it, but this is intentional. Use the flat side to slather on the gorgeous color, then use the tip end to line your lips, so the gloss looks absolutely perfect. Try doing that with an ordinary gloss.
As you can see from the chart and the photo of a dozen colors in the collection, the main focus really is on pinks of varying intensities and tones. But there’s something for everyone. I tried “Peach Snow,” a clear, semi-sheer, light peach that works best on fair skin, but can be worn layered with something else, or another one of these glosses. In fact. Gloss In Love has was designed to also be worn with Lancome’s Rouge In Love lipstick (The Advice Sisters reviewed the Lancome “In Love “collection in April). The addition of the gloss amplifies the pigments and the intensity of the lipstick, and adds glorious shine.
At $27.00 this may be a bit of a splurge for some, but it is a special item and it’s also fun to use. Take this out of your makeup bag. Deptress the button on the tube, watch the wand instantly pop up, and get instant beauty cred as well as pretty, pouty, beautifully tinted, lips.
