There are times in life when jewelry needs to do more than just look decorative. It needs to be a talisman that reminds you that you are awesome and worthy, or that you are loved, or that you are always in someone’s thoughts, or that you can accomplish a goal. When you look at that bracelet on your wrist or the necklace or ring and touch it, the connection with your skin gives you an immediate sensation of comfort and confidence. That what I think is special about these jewelry gifts that once you see them in person, you might have have the willpower to give them away. But they’re also affordable, so gift yourself, too!
It’s amazing just how much one fantastic piece of jewelry can transform an outfit and your outlook, with it. This simple bangle is one of those “wow!” pieces that adds that finishing touch to any outfit. The Steel by Design Hinged Bangle by QVC #J29278 ($32.25) looks deceptively simple, but it sparkles just enough to add class to even a simple dress or pants outfit, and it is available in three different finishes: gold, silver or rose gold. The glittery bangle looks and feels very substantial. I broke my hand a few years back, and I can’t compress it into a bangle without pain, but this bangle is hinged so although it looks solid, the snap hinge with magnetic closure means you don’t have to “squish” your hand to compress it thorough the hole in the bangle. If you like to wear big rings, you also don’t have to remove them first to get the bangle on. The bangle is made of stainless steel which means it won’t readily corrode, rust, or stain with water like ordinary steel. I probably wouldn’t wear it in the shower, but you don’t have to worry if you wash your hands or wear it in the rain. One makes a fabulous gift, all three makes a stunning one! These look much better in person than in the photos, trust me on it! These beautiful bangles are available in three sizes: Small: 6-3/4″ Fit; measures approximately 1/2″W; Average: 7-1/4″ Fit; measures approximately 1/2″W and; Large: 8″ Fit; measures approximately 1/2″W. Claudia Montez , the creator of Isabelle Grace, has been quoted as being inspired by a gold locket that her grandmother wore that held a photo of her grandfather. She loved the fact that is was so personal, and she wanted to carry that beautiful tradition, forward. The tag on Isabelle Grace Jewelry says “Celebrating Life, Beautifully” and I think this LENA Bracelet $88.00 with toggle clasp, does that because it is much more than just a simple, and ordinary, lather strap It really is a way to celebrate yourself, or a special occasion. The bracelet takes the look of metal and leather one step further than the same old same old with luxurious, pebbled suede leather that feels soft and has a bit of a sheen to it, but the leather still holds its shape. The toggle is beautiful, substantial, and with a nod to the nautical. One makes a statement, but you can layer it with other pieces you own. It is available in six colors (see the photo above) with either silver or gold metal accents. Although this bracelet is meant for a woman, a man with a smaller wrist could wear it too as the design is actually unisex. Think outside of the box!!! Get it in 7″, 7.5″ or 8″ lengths to fit various wrist sizes.
Also from Isabelle Grace is this Gemstone Bar Necklace $120.00. Like other selections on this page, what seems simple, really isn’t. This one is devastatingly elegant. These ladylike necklaces can be layered together, but I wore just one of these (in garnet) and it got noticed, and mentioned, over and over again, each time I wore it. Select the semi-precious gemstone you like the best (or your birthstone) and it comes in a bar of beads,on a 14kt gold filled chain accented with stardust roundel beads. The gemstone choices include: – Amethyst; – Black Onyx; – Blue Zircon; – Garnet; – Moonstone; – Peridot amd – Ruby. This would be a nice gift for your attendants if your wedding party, or for the woman who loves jewelry but won’t wear big statement pieces. You can get the chain in gold or silver in 15″ or 18″. Keep in mind that Isabelle Grace jewelry is hand made, so allow a week for your order to ship from their studio. There are so many other lovely and unique pieces on the Isabelle Grace Jewelry web site, so I suggest you go and Visit IsabelleGraceJewelry.com
The luxury of a wrap doesn’t always mean a shawl — gift her with one of the many colors of the Madrid Wrap Bracelet ($49.00) from LuLu Avenue. This bracelet, like almost everything else LuLu Avenue sells, is reminiscent of a high end designer bracelet, but it costs a lot less, and yet the quality and the look is very similar. The quality is evident, and yet you’re not going to pay hundreds for it. I selected the bronze leather wrap above, and I like the look of the tan leather too, but you can choose from at least a dozen other colors including turquoise, orange, green silver, gold, pewter, chartreuse, aqua, black, green, brown and pink, in silver and gold studs, just for starters. This wrap is the kind of bracelet that appeals to just about anyone at any age. It’s the kind of bracelet that adds a bit of “badass” in a feminine way. Check out the other great things LuLu Avenue has for the holidays and your shopping might be “one-stop.” Lulu Avenue is sold through Independent Style Advisors and you can get one through the website, or become one, yourself:
A lot of women like to add beads to necklaces or bracelets to commemorate a special occasion, but those types of bracelets can be very pricey. If you or your gift recipient is the sentimental type, but you don’t have a big budget, I suggest ordered a starter bracelet (or you can wear it “as-is” from Gari Anne Kosanke, creator of the Bead Lovers Korner. Although I didn’t meet her in person, her hand-crafted jewelry was included in a showcase of products from the Artisan Exchange (a group of artistic entrepreneurs who showcase and market their handcrafted products as a community). This particular Stainless Steel Bracelet with Red glass beads and a pink crystal bead $32.00 is handmade and one of a kind, found on Etsy, but if you visit the Bead Lovers Korner you will find a dizzying array of bracelet types and beads that you can choose to create and personalize a bracelet or other piece of jewelry for someone special. The Carlo Biagi Bangle Bracelet Ball Ends bracelet ($12.50) I sampled is a stainless steel medium sized bangle featuring and one of the end balls screws off so you can add as many beads as you like or can fit on the bracelet. Mine had two sterling silver balls and one red crystal bead (you choose the beads separately). There are lots of different styles of bracelet with removeable end ball to add beads onto, including some in real sterling silver ($59.00). The cost of the beads and how many you want to put on, is up to you. Or you can simply choose from the unique items Gari Anne creates herself, and save yourself the trouble. One of my favorites pieces from the Editor’s Preview offered by the Artisan Exchange is this exquisite, delicate, sterling silver pendant, the Olive Green Calla Lily Necklace, Pendant Necklace, with Green Swarovski Crystal & Silver Calla Lily Flower Charm from Green Ribbon Gems ($40.00). This is a handmade item, sterling silver wire, sterling silver lobster heart clasp, sterling silver cable chain, Swarovski crystal accent and a brushed silver calla lily charm. These are made to order so you can get a crystal of another color if green isn’t your favorite. The chain is delicate and sparkles just a bit, with a with a lobster claw clasp in the shape of a little heart. The flower is large enough to suit a woman, but still appropriate for a younger woman to wear. Right now Genevieve Meehan, the artist, is updating her web site, so Genevive Meehan’s Designs on ETSY. She ships her jewelry from Newark, Delaware and accepts Etsy Gift Cards.
