When I Love Something I Want More than One!
When I find something I love I need more than one. I don’t buy like that often, but in 2014 I received a sample of a heat styling tool that amazed me so much, I had to buy a backup!
It was the John Frieda Volume & Gloss Shine Shape 1″ Hot Air Brush.
At the launch demonstration, hair bristling with static was instantly tamed by merely running the brush through it once. And, it worked as well on my own hair at home. My hair instantly was smoother, shinier, and frizz-free.
A New Salon SHAPE By John Frieda
I have used my heat stylers from John Frieda for several years. But now there is a new version of this hot hair heat styler: the Salon SHAPE 1 1/2 heat styling brush from John Frieda.
This premium Hot Air brush supposedly has 50% more ions and adds more volume and shine to your hair while it simultaneously dries each strand.

The Salon Shape looks essentially the same as the original heat styling brush except the new Salon SHAPE is silver, the older style is Lavender,
Like the original, the new Salon SHAPE version also has 2 heat settings plus cool setting, a Titanium ceramic coated barrel, and a large swivel cord.
But on the Salon SHAPE the air control is enhanced with a larger filter and grill.
The original John Frieda Volume and Shine heat styling brush was meant to dry hair as it styled, but if you have a lot of long, thick hair this really takes too long.
What the heat stylers are so wonderful for are for smoothing and finishing. Ionic technology generations negative ions that neutralize positive ions in the air. This flattens and seals the hair cuticle, reducing frizz, and leaving hair shiny and more manageable.
However, the new Salon SHAPE version heats up very quickly delivering enough heat to dry and style at the same time.
My original Volume Gloss & Shine Shape brush had a 1″ barrel. That was fine, but the Salon SHAPE has a wider 1 1/2 ” barrel that gives medium to long hair a graceful wave over or under, so it’s not stick straight and easy to control.

My hair is always frizzy. If someone cries, I get frizz. The photo above is my selfie, completely un-retouched on a single pass through my hair. Frizz disappears and shine arrives.

In my initial test, I simply ran the brush (on High –cool just locks in style, low works best for thinner hair types) through my clean, dry hair once, holding the barrel under at the ends.

Cost: A Worthwhile Investment
Salon SHAPE retails for approximately $40 which is really a worthwhile investment. I might have to get a backup of this one, too! The only thing that could make this better would be dual voltage.
