The holidays are nearly over, but I am willing to bet that your skin is starting to scream “pamper me!” If Santa didn’t put a good, nicely scented, body lotion into your stocking, you get the chance to find your own, hydrating goody. One that I really like is Kneipp Lemograss & Olive Body Lotion $28.99 6.8 fl. oz.
Kneipp has been making products since 1891. Their products have no parabens or other preservatives, no color, no paraffin, silicone or mineral oils, no animal-derived ingredients (so good for vegans), and no material that has a high probability of irritating sensitive skin.
…and that’s just for starters. What this lovely body lotion in a flip-top tube does have, is an aromatherapy effect, thanks to yummy lemongrass to energize and refresh your body and mind. In fact, lemongrass is thought to help you concentrate and stay motivated–a good thing in these dark days of Winter. But of course, this is a body lotion, so it has olive oil to protect skin from moisture loss and help skin stay soft. It also has a bunch of other oils and ingredients to soothe and smooth Winter weary skin. It is suitable for all skin types. and is NaTrue Certified Natural Personal Care. This is the True Friends of Natural and Organic Cosmetics certification. In order for a company to be NaTrue Certified by this non-profit group, they must apply, and every and at least 75% of the product range/brand must be Natural Cosmetics. So, for those who care — this is a good thing as well.
I love the scent, and the packaging, two things I always associate with Kneipp products. The body lotion is really thick — more a cream than a lotion (I associate lotions with runnier consistencies) and it needs to be massaged into your skin. While you rub it in, you get that energizing, lemongrass scent. Then, you get to enjoy softer, smoother, hydrated skin!
Another product that I think it neat, from Kneipp, is their Healthy Feet Anti-Callus Salve with Calendula (soothes and moisturizes and is good for sensitive skin) and Rosemary (revitalizes tired feet and has an energizing aroma). It has 25% urea and natural, essential oils, to start dealing a death knell for callused, dry, cracked feet. Other emollients include jojoba oil, panthenol, allantoin and a host of other good-for-your-skin ingredients. It is challenging to deal with thick, dry, callused, and cracked skin on your feet, but this lotion in a flip-top tube smells herbal-y and refreshing, and feels soothing just being massaged into your skin. At $24.00 for 1.7 fl. oz it is a bit of a splurge, but it could make a difference in less than a week of regular use — so you might get nearly instant gratification. A little also goes a long way.
