‘M-A-C”s “Stylishly Yours Collection is a bold, intense color collection. It’s just the sort that M-A-C Cosmetics does so well. It’s a well edited collection for eyes, lips and face with the sort of unique colors you’ve been seeing in the fashion magazines: hot pink, bold orange, bright red, deep purple. Nothing in terms of saturated color is held back.
Here is how M-A-C Cosmetics describes this new :Stylishly Yours” Collection: “Madly chic women know how to play variations on a theme to give a signature look major oomph, more modern momentum; the simplest switch-up is all that’s required. A pink lip, a lavender eye? A red lip, a orange eye? Stylishly Yours is a M∙A∙C presto-change-o colour collection to personalize the process instantly. Always flawlessly fabulous, set against the sophistication of black, work the full spectrum of passionate pinks to raging reds, in 4 Lipsticks, 4 Pigments, 4 Creme Colour Base, 2 Beauty Powders, Clear Lipglass, and don’t panic – Zoomlash and Fluidline at the ready to doubledramatize how glamorous it is to be you. “
You may not feel ready to rock your own runway with a faceful of these colors (if you are, that’s fine), but you can certainly pick and choose from this very exciting color cosmetics collection, and find a few favorites to make your look a bit more fashion forward:
HERE IS THE RUNDOWN ON THE “Stylishly Yours” COLLECTION:
CREAM COLOUR BASE
Virgin Isle – Vivid bright coral (Cream)
Tickle Me Pink – Poppy creamy bright pink (Cream)
Movie Star Red – Medium toned blue red (Cream)
Madly Magenta – Vivid pinkish purple (Cream) *this is definitely a color of blush I would not normally, personally pick to wear on my face – it’s just too 70″s disco and too “cool” for my warm skin. But if you have a deeper and cooler complexion, it’s going to heat up those cheek “apples” in a most appealing way. No matter which one you select, they are going to give you a lot of color. A little really is all you need, especially if you are going for a sensibly subtle look. Add too much and you risk looking like you’re wearing warpaint — but that might be just the “stylishly yours” look you’re going for!

Dark Diversion – Blackened Plum *I do better with powder liner and a flat brush, but M-A-C Fluidlline is just about the easiest gel liner to apply. This one not only gives you a trendy, deep plum line, but you can smudge it to make a modern, long-lasting, smoky eye base, too. If you have stayed away from liquid and gel liners because you weren’t sure how you would use them, try this M-A-C Fluidline in Dark Diversion – it’s major love!
Suggested Retail Price $15.00 U.S. / $18.00 CDN
BRUSH – 209 – Eyeliner – Suggested Retail Price $17.50 U.S. /$21.00 CDN
New Hue – Blackened burgundy *if you are not sure you can pull off all the brights in this collection, the two must-haves for you are the Fluidline in Deep Plum, above, and this lovely mascara in a vibrant, black raspberry that adds just a hint of something new and mysterious. If you add a Pigment in “Violet” (from the list, below) and you’ll have the purples trend, covered.
Suggested Retail Price $14.00 U.S. / $16.50 CDN
Neon Orange – Bright clean orange (Amplified) *this lipstick, in fact all of the lipsticks in this collection, are bold. The color are so saturated that they will leave a bit of a “stain” that makes them last longer. This one is so bright, it is almost blinding. But blotted, it has a certain stage-y charm that made me want to re-apply it all over again. TIP: make sure your lips are perfectly smooth–the color will fall into every crack and pick up every dead piece of skin, Exfoliate!
Something New – Creamy bright blue pink (Amplified) *Yes, it is “something new,” but you have to truly enjoy the look of very bold lips, along the lines of Katy Perry or Lady GaGa, or even more likely, Nicki Minaj (who not so long ago, launched her own, Pink Fridays lipstick for M-A-C). This is so bright, even Barbie would gush! But on the right person, or blotted down to suit a less stand-out-ish woman, it’ll work wonders for style points.
