Not long ago I was invited to a Trunk Show at Henri Bendel for a new skin care brand called “LUXTURAL™ with the tag line: “When luxury meets nature at your skin™ I couldn’t attend the event, but I did get some of the products to try and to suggest to you. Until now, this high end skincare brand was sold only at Harvey Nichols in the UK, but now it’s here in the USA. Luxtural is inspired by “nature and its basic elements,” capturing the “best qualities of the Holistic Medicine from ancient cultures” combined with the high end cosmetic science.
The company claims that Luxtural products deliver remarkable (anti-aging) results, and they have some clinical studies at www.luxtural.com, But, for many skincare lines as with this one, the initial focus is on proper hydration of the skin. For example, Luxtural uses Pure Northern Pacific Rain Water that they say is “soft, clean water, extremely low in minerals and contaminants, with a natural ability to absorb quickly.” The “hook” is that they water is “clean, soft water gathered before ever touching the earth,” so it is naturally free of harsh chemicals or contaminants). Other benefits include the chic packaging, brown and matte silver, in airless pump bottles that help keep the product free of contaminants.
As with every pricey skin care line, there are people who swear by the products, and plenty of detractors. I always say that the best skincare in the world won’t help you if you’ve picked products that don’t address the needs of your skin, or you don’t use them properly, or regularly. But, so far, I’m liking Luxtural. My main concern is that the company makes a lot of pretty impressive claims, and when you’re asking consumers to pay high-end prices for skincare, you really should try and back it up with as much information as you can. The Luxtural web site does have information, but not enough. The key ingredients aren’t even listed on the bottles. When you visit the Luxutral web site you’ll find some information on the ingredients,, but I expected more clarification and detail. Furthermore, I can’t substantiate the company’s claim that Luxtural products raise the skin’s hydration level by 120% and up to a maximum of 182% after 5 minutes. Or, that the skin retained an impressive 81% and up to a maximum of 178% more hydration 6 hours after application. Truly, the products felt great, and made my skin feel soft and hydrated, but I’d like more documentation. You can get more information about Luxtural’s clinical study but I expected more when I got to the web site, and there really wasn’t enough data there to satisfy me.
Still, trying a product and finding it to your liking is more than half the reason people decide to buy a product at any price point. Luxtural consists of a three, key products: Sophisticated Veil (an Anti-Aging Deep Moisturizing Serum); Mystique Fountain (a Facial Deep Hydrating Mist) and Silk Premonition (a deep moisturizer). And yes, I DID like them!
You start with Mystique Fountain $93.00 3.4 fl. oz. It spritzes on from a pump bottle and calms, cools and refreshes your skin, while naturally protecting it from environmental damage. The product has something called “Luxtural™ Special Exotic Extract,” and while I can’t figure out exactly what’s in it, the Luxtural web site says it is a “one of a kind complex that adds additional moisturizing and antioxidant properties. ” What is for sure, is that if you apply it to a clean face you can use it as a primer, or spritz it directly over your makeup. TIP: after application, tap face lightly with clean fingers and experience a cooling, tingling sensation. For best results, after applying Mystique Fountain, follow with the application of LUXTURAL™ moisturizer “Silk Premonition” and then Luxtural serum “Sophisticated Veil.”
I also liked Step 2, Silk Premonition $177.00 1.35 fl. oz. essentially a a deep facial moisturizing and anti-aging lotion. I like the recessed pump bottle, and the extremely silky and fast absorbing, hydrating moisturizer. The product is touted as protecting against free radicals with a “Special Exotic Extract, a one of a kind complex.” If this product was shown to me in a blind test, I’d know it was luxurious just from the feel of it on my skin. The product is also supposedly supplying the skin with suprerior, anti-aging, microencapsulated components including: seaweed (known to increase levels of water retention while providing the skin with essential vitamins and proteins), peptides (known to improve the appearance of aging skin) and Ceramides (known to help in repairing the skin’s natural barrier). Luxtural’s “smart delivery system” supposedly enhances the bioavailability of these components. If your skin is dull and dry, you’ll really love the way this product, feels. TIP: For best results, prior to this application, use Luxtural™ Hydrating Mist, ”Mystique Fountain.”
The third step in this luxurious skincare treatment is application of Sophisticated Veil $219.00 1/2 fl. oz. I’m used to pricey skincare, but this product alone tips the luxury scale at over $200.00 What your skin will get is “effective and advanced anti-aging ingredients (peptides, and Vitamin E and C with long-term benefits),” that definitely make your skin immediately feel pampered with deep moisture in a nourishing, sheer, “veil” that helps prevent moisture loss and makes your skin feel smoother to the touch. This formula is made with natural oils (e.g. Rose Hip, Borage and Evening Primrose) all of which have high amounts of essential fatty acids that are known to be very important for your skin’s overall health. And, the oils and the product won’t clog your skin’s pores. It does honestly feel wonderful. TIP: to apply, warm a small amount between clean fingers to help release its distinctive ingredients, then massage gently into the face, including crow’s feet and neck, breathe deeply and enjoy the natural smell.
Luxtural may be your newest, swoon-worthy skincare splurge, or maybe your latest must-have, or perhaps you’ll just but no matter what, you’ll feel like you’re truly pampering your skin and yourself! Luxtural’s Ultimate Experience offers all three products fo r$489.00 (and you’ll get free shipping if you purchase online at http://www.luxtural.com/ You can find it at Henri Bendel, too.
