DUMBO in Brooklyn is a magnet for visitors from around the world who want to see the spectacular views of the Manhattan skyline, and also plenty of locals. and locals, but this weekend there is another reason to visit DUMBO and the Brooklyn Bridge Park.

Lysol is presenting a free Exhibition honoring all the ways mothers, human and animal, have unique instincts to protect their children: “Protect Like a Mother.”

Three huge sculptures featuring a golden eagle protecting two eggs in her next, a large octopus, and a giant, 24-foot high orangutan with a baby riding on her back, are interspersed with large storyboard exhibits showing different animal “moms” (including human moms) and how they uniquely protect their precious children.
I got a chance to see to see the exhibit in a press preview tonight. It’s well worth the trip!
When to Go
The “Protect Like A Mother” Exhibit is open to the public on Saturday, May 20 and Sunday, May 21 from 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. EDT in Brooklyn Bridge Plaza at Brooklyn Bridge Park.
Nestled next to Luke’s Lobster and the River Cafe, the Brooklyn Bridge Plaza at Brooklyn Bridge Park is easily accessible to the F, A, C, and 7th Avenue subways. I can’ t upload the “Protect Like A Mother” film (it’s just too large for my website) but I did see it and it’s charming. It shows the fierce way human moms protect their children using their counterparts of a lioness, grizzly bear, monkey, and elephant among others.
In my home we have two big cats. One is a rescue that has IBS. We use a lot of Lysol disinfecting spray, and a ton of Lysol Disinfecting wipes.
They not only help us deal with certain smells but also ensures that our home is clean and safe.
