October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. have products that are sold in over 140 countries and territories with brand names such as: Estée Lauder, Aramis, Clinique, Prescriptives, Lab Series, Origins, M-A-C, Bobbi Brown, Tommy Hilfiger, Kiton, La Mer, Donna Karan, Aveda, Jo Malone, Bumble and bumble, Darphin, Michael Kors, American Beauty, Flirt!, Good Skin(TM), Grassroots Research Labs, Sean John, Missoni, Daisy Fuentes, Tom Ford, Mustang, Coach, Ojon and Eyes by Design. …whew! That’s a lot of great companies under one “roof. These Companies are staunch supporters of breast cancer research, education and support. In fact, the Breast Cancer Research Foundation® was founded in 1993 by Evelyn H. Lauder as an independent, not-for-profit 501(c) (3) organization dedicated to funding innovative clinical and translational research. The Foundation supports scientists at top universities and academic medical centers worldwide conducting the most advanced and promising breast cancer research that, (hopefully), will lead to prevention and a cure in our lifetime.
A minimum of 85 cents of each dollar donated to the Foundation goes directly to breast cancer research and awareness programs. In October 2009, nearly $29 million will be awarded to more than 170 scientists across the United States and Europe and in Australia, Canada, Latin America and the Middle East. One of my favorite designers for both fashion and fragrance, Donna Karan, has not one, but two fragrances offered in special edition packaging that make contributions to the Estee Lauder Breast Cancer initiative: A limited edition Cashmere Mist Eau de Parfum Spray Eau de Parfum Spray. and DKNY BE DELICIOUS Fresh Blossom Eau de Parfum Spray. If you are seeking a new scent for now, for the holidays, or for gift-giving, GET THESE NOW while they’re still available and save your energy for enjoying the holidays by avoiding the holiday crowds. You’ll feel good, smell good, and help do a good thing to stamp out breast cancer. Here are the details:
I am a huge fan of Donna Karan Cashmere Mist 3.4 fl. oz/100 ml Suggested Retail Price: $90.00. The bottle has the curves of a woman, and the scent is a spicy but soft floriental mixture of soft florals, amber and woods. This fragrance smells sensual…and luxurious. It features Moroccan jasmine, lily of the valley and bergamot, warmed with sandalwood. The fragrance works on everyone’s body chemistry just a little bit differently, so you’ll get the spices and florals, but they will become something unique to you. The fragrance will linger for hours, but won’t bowl you over, either. For Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, the Cashmere Mist Eau de Parfum Spray will include a pink ribbon decoration both on the carton, and a delicate one screened right onto the bottle, all in support of The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Donna Karan Cosmetics will make a donation of $15,000 to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation in connection with the sales of this Limited-Edition Cashmere Mist Eau de Parfum Spray. It is available at: Bloomingdale’s, Macy’s and Donna Karan Collection Boutiques in the USA. Website : www.donnakaranbeauty.com
A purchase of DKNY BE DELICIOUS Fresh Blossom Eau de Parfum Spray 3.4 fl. oz/100ml EDP Suggested Retail Price: $70.00 also benefits The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (DKNY will make a donation of $15,000 in connection with the sales of the DKNY Be DeliciousFresh Blossom to BCRF). The square, white carton with grey and pink accents opens to reveal a silver-topped “apple” with recessed spray infuser and a clear glass base filled with delicate pink juice. This fresh floral fragrance delights women of all generations, with a light and juicy fruit and floral combo. It features to notes of sparkling grapefruit, cassis and apricot, with a heart of sheer muguet and petal rose that you can really enjoy, with a blend of feminine jasmine. The apple blossom sensation finishes with a body-lingering base of blonde woods and smooth skin accords. The flacon is so gorgeous, you’ll want to linger, looking at it. But you will spritz it on every occasion, from going to the store, to going to a wedding, because the scent will make you feel happy, fresh, ready to meet whatever life has in store for you every day. It is available at Bloomingdale’s, Macy’s, Sephora and DKNY stores in the USA. Website : http://www.dknyfragrances.com/
*The Estee Lauder Companies has also created something online that you can participate in, and it won’t cost a dime: THE WORLD PINK MOSAIC. The web site is the centerpiece of its 2009 global online effort – to kick off Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The company is creating the world’s largest online photo mosaic in the shape of a Pink Ribbon, with participants from around the world sharing their support for breast health and the desire for a world without breast cancer. The online campaign will reach an estimated 200 million people worldwide. You, and others from around the world, can submit your photo into this virtual mosaic as a simple means of donning a virtual pink ribbon and lending their participation and support to this global cause. Participants can distinguish themselves within the mosaic as either “Supporter,” “Survivor” or “Touched” by this disease. Your photos and others, in different shades of pink or white, become part of a virtual tapestry that will take the shape of a giant Pink Ribbon. You can also share your photo and thoughts with friends and family by posting it to their social networking profiles, sending a link to Twitter or emailing it.
