I gotta know right now
Before we go any further
Do you love me?
Will you love me forever?
Let me sleep on it
Baby, baby, let me sleep on it
Let me sleep on it
And I’ll give you an answer in the morning
From “Paradise by the Dashboard Light (Meatloaf)
When it comes to skincare, each new innovation, each fancy package, each product out there begs you to “love them forever.” But will you?
Now, skincare that works overnight and that is affordable isn’t just a dream. The products we’re highlighting from Avon Anew Clinical and Garnier are to be used overnight while you sleep, so you wake up to better skin that, over time, really truly could make you look a whole lot better in any light, dashboard or elsewhere!
Look Anew at Overnights : There have been so many advances in skincare, many of them thanks to ANEW Clinical Skincare. Anew Overnight Hydration Mask $30.00 1.7 fl. oz. is the next “buddy” you’ll want to invite to a sleep-over, because this new product (coming over from Asia, no less) is being touted as the next BIG thing for anti-aging and it can give you nearly instant satisfaction.
The gel mask hydrates quickly and thoroughly without feeling thick and goopy because the super-hydrating gel has encapsulated hyaluronic acid and shea butter beads that literally burst when they touch your skin. The formula also has ceramides to lock in moisture when you’re out and about, too (for up to 48 hours after a single application is the claim). But the mask, instead of sticking around (and I mean “sticking” literally) this mask absorbs instantly so it stays on your skin but not on your pillow our your partner.
Well, of course I wanted to try this, and considering that the products is also good for sensitive skin, oil-free and fragrance-free, it’s a no-brainer, especially at the reasonable price of $30.00 (I really don’t know how AVON keeps the costs down, but thank you)! Applied 3x/week you should see some really decent results, although the instructions say you can also use this with your favorite ANEW night cream for ultimate hydration. To me, that would be a bit too much. I am also not as comfortable with the claim AVON makes that “women agreed it made their skin look as hydrated as if they drank 8 glasses of water.”
Honestly, you should drink water for many other reasons, and not simply to hydrate your skin. As with most things, the point is, do you like it and does it work for you?
IMHO the new “mask” is a super moisturizer at a good price that won’t bother your sleeping partners or mess up your sheets. But with regular use you’ll see softer, smoother skin and if your skin is dry, it’s going to improve, and for that alone, it’s a definite plus, plus! Overnight Miracle? Are there miracles in a jar? Based on some of the reviews of this new Ultra Lift Miracle Sleeping Anti-Age Cream by Garnier Srp. $16.99 1.7 oz. maybe so. Those who love it say they wake up with super-hydrated skin that feels softer and looks brighter, thanks to hyaluronic acid and essential oils. This product, also inspired by “sleeping packs” from Asia, combines the hydrating and recharging power of a mask with the light refreshing feel of a cream to deeply hydrate skin and over time, hopefully visibly reduce wrinkles and fine lines. The product claims to be “dermatologist tested for safety, allergy tested, gentle to skin, fast absorbing, non-greasy, and suitable for all skin types.” Despite some reviewers claims to the contrary, I personally found all of the above to be correct, although I did feel a tingle on my skin and my skin is sensitive, so if your skin is very sensitive maybe it’s not for you. But some people online even whines about the scent, which I found to be actually very light and pleasant.
I’m personally a big fan of Garnier skin products including the Garnier Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel cream that hydrates for up to 24 hours and is just $5.99 (in fact it’s one of the few jars of moisturizer I’ve ever actually used up completely –it’s a day moisturizing gel not an overnight product).
Perhaps it’s the use of the word miracle that is making it difficult for people to keep their expectations in check. As an experienced beauty reviewer, I keep my expectations in line with what the product is supposed to do. In the case of the new Ultra Lift Miracle Sleeping Cream and the new Ultra lift Miracle Sleeping Cream Anti-Age Eye ($16.99 0.5 fl. oz.).
These products have soothers, moisturizers and brighteners including Lavender Essential Oil (to comfort), Adenosine & Hyaluronic & (in the face cream) Hydroxy acids (to intensely hydrate and reduce visible signs of aging) and for the eyes, caffeine and plant extracts (to reduce dark circles & puffiness). For under $17.00 it might not be a miracle (like parting the Red Sea or restoring sight to the blind or turning water into wine) but you’ll wake up with improved skin over time.
That’s all you can really ask of moisturizing creams and these perform well and pleasantly, while you sleep. Get Garnier products in mass market retailers and drug stores nationwide. For more information visit the Garnier Web Site.
