What We’re Required to Disclose:
We also want to make it understood that these samples are not compensation or barter for editorial, especially considering the tremendous amount of effort it takes to write genuine reviews (cash would be nice, but when we receive sponsorship dollars we properly disclose that).
Free samples never have and never will influence responsible reporting. We offer unbiased and experienced opinions of products.
It is unfortunate that irresponsible unprofessional bloggers have forced the “powers that be” to create this ruling. Becuase we have always felt that disclosure was the honest thing to do, we have voluntarily disclosed samples and how we work with companies.
We find it regrettable that our online publication is lumped together with bloggers and others who have been unethical and require legal mechanisms to keep them “in check.”
Advicesisters.com only recently made the decision to accept advertising and advertorial content (see our media kit).
As required by law, but also by our personal standards, these are clearly marked as sponsored.
If you are interested in sponsored advertorials, social media, or other advertising on advicesisters.com please visit our Media Kit/Advertising Page.

Relationship Advice (how advicesisters.com began in 1997).
The Advice Sisters Beauty and Style provides advice about the things that help make life easier, more successful and more fun, but this is no longer a relationship advice site.
Advicesisters.com and advicesisters.net began offering relationship, dating, and wedding advice.
However, with the death of her twin sister Jessica Blackman Freedman (the other “advice sister”) the site become a review and features magazine focusing on beauty, fashion and lifestyle and things to make life easier, more successful and more fun.
Alison Blackman now also co-authors a different relationship advice website: Leather and Lace Advice http://www.leatherandlaceadvice.com with a male partner.
Leather and Lace Advice features the signature two views “Double-Take” Q&A that The Advice Sisters are famous for creating. You can ask your relationship questions for free there.
