One such product is Pure Inventions®. Developed by nutritionists, this unique line of fruit, cocoa and green tea extracts, as well as Fit & Slender (weight management), and Tranquility (calming formula) turns ordinary water into a much more healthful drink. You just drop a few drops of your chosen, antioxidant rich liquid into a glass of plain old water, or right into your water bottle (or even hot or cold tea), and it adds a boost of health-enhancing benefits with no caffeine, no sugar, no artificial sweeteners, no preservatives, no alcohol, no gluten and no calories.
Some of the ingredients in these products are classics that have identifiable benefits. But when it comes to the antioxidants in the products, I wonder a bit about that. The word “Antioxidant” is bandied about as something wonderful, both as an internal product and in many beauty products. Antioxidants are widely used as ingredients in dietary supplements in the hope of maintaining health and preventing diseases. Alas, there isn’t all that much clinical evidence that antioxidants are the powerhouses they are touted to be. The battle wages on about whether or not antioxidants really do great things. When you read the Pure Inventions descriptions of what benefits the ingredients have, the wording isn’t always definitive. The literature says: “this ingredient may….” to describe a specific benefit or function It appears even the creators of this product recognize that while it probably won’t hurt to these products, the benefits cannot be quantified. At least not right now.
But: (and here’s where I give a thumbs up to Pure Inventions), I love the idea of the products. And, as someone who really doesn’t like drinking water, even though I know it is good for me, the addition of a Pure Inventions liquid not only helps me feel like I’m doing good things for my health, it also flavors the taste of tap water so that I actually want to drink it! If the ingredients really have benefits, I’m happy to take them along with a better tasting drink that I will actually enjoy.
I have, on several occasions, tasted various products from the entire Pure Inventions line and they all are delicious. Here is the breakdown of the various lines and flavors:
Green Tea Extracts: 6 Flavors (Raspberry, Peach, Original, Tropical, Pineapple-Coconut, Vanilla) *the flavors are bursting with life, and taste “authentic”). Lohan fruit is a natural sweetner that can be used safely by diabetics. One full dropper in 8 ounces of water is equal to 100mg of green tea. The amber-colored glass bottle holds 2 oz which is approximately 60 servings. It costs $30.75.
Antioxidant Fruit Extracts: Cranberry + Elderberry, Blueberry + White Tea, Pomegranate + Acai, Wild Cherry Apple + Resveratrol (I am a fan of the Cherry Apple + Resveratrol, but they’re all tart and tasty). Lohan fruit is a natural sweetener in this one as well. These bottles are 4 oz. each and cost $40.75. You use two full droppers to 8 oz. of water. You can also use these as a flavoring in yogurt or oatmeal, or even in alcoholic drinks (now that’s what I call a healthy alternative)!
Pure Cocoa Extract: Chocolate (oh, this one is truly, truly sinfully good) Delicious Chocolate Cocoa is sugar-free, artificial sweetener-free, caffeine-free, calorie-free and dairy free! Pure Cocoa Antioxidants contain potent amounts of chocolate antioxidants, including the flavonols and polyphenols associated with optimal cardiovascular health. Recent studies show that pure cocoa may help promote healthy skin structure and improve skin density. You use two droppers to 8 oz. of liquid, and that’s enough for 30 servings. The 2 oz. bottle costs $34.95. Put this in your sweetheart’s chocolate martini and make then feel good more ways than one!
Tranquility Tea Extract – Calming all natural blend of chamomile, passionflower and magnesium A 2 oz. bottle is $32.75 and gives you 3- servings at one dropper per 8 oz. of liquid. Tranquility helps you to relax and unwind, from the inside out. Ingredients include chamomile and Passionflower, and magnesium to aid in muscle relaxation and also helps to promote better sleep. Passionflower may help relieve muscle tension and calm the nerves.
Fit & Slender – Weight management formula I haven’t tried this but here is what the press literature says about it: “Pure Inventions Fit + Slender is a liquid dietary supplement, designed to help you with healthy weight management. A 2 oz,. bottle costs $39.50.
Healthy Liver – Liver, Skin & Immune support formula for detox. FOR THE HOLIDAYS: Take the “wellness” one step further in the most unusual way. Pure Investions has created some awesome Hedonist Artisan Chocolates — a collection of 5 exclusive pieces of chocolate that have Pure Investions ingredients from the Green Tea and Fruit Extract collections. is The chocolate is dark and silky and, of course, there is the added benefit of the antioxidants.
I tried the Pure Raspberry, a dark chocolate raspberry ganache with Pure Raspberry Green Tea and a touch of Chambord Liquor, then dusted in 100% cocoa. It is mouth-wateringly delicious! The other pieces sound equally as good. There is a Green Tea Japanese Matcha in a white chocolate ganache with a touch of Pure Green Tea; Roasted coconut enrobed in a 72% dark chocolate with Pure Green Tea; Cherry Almond features tart Cherry and salted almond with Pure Wild Cherry Apple+ Resveratrol; and Peaches and Cream has Creamy white chocolate with Pure Peach Green Tea in dark chocolate.
