Review of the Silk’n ReVit Diamond-Peeling Microderm Device
by Alison Blackman
Silk’n ReVit may sound like a strange name, but it’s for a clever, effective, at-home microdermabrasion device. If I had to name it, I would call it “little miracle worker.” As a beauty editor, I have undergone plenty of pricey skincare treatments in salons and in
As a beauty editor, I get to try lots of unique and pricey skincare treatments and for the most part, I’m glad to leave my precious skin to the care of my precious skin to professionals. But some at-home devices have evolved to the point where you really can safely and effectively handle some skincare issues at home. There have been plenty of microdermabrasion devices that I’ve tried over the decades I’ve been online, but many of the earlier ones simply didn’t work well enough to do a good job. Others removed layers of skin, but were too harsh for an inexperienced person to use them smoothly or safely.
The Silk’n ReVit is a game changer. It’s not just an easy to use, diamond peeling microdermabrasion device that gives you skin a glow and, over time. It is a safe way to minimize the appearance of scars, acne, fine lines, wrinkles and dull skin. And the total kit : the ReVit unit, charger, debris filters and three treatment heads (coarse for heavy duty, fine for gentle and one for smaller areas) is just $99.00. This is enough for quite a few treatments. Additional filters are easily available.
How Does ReVit Work?
It looks so easy, but it works so well, using vacuum stimulation to help improve the tone and elasticity of your skin, while it also exfoliates and “sucks up” the dead cells. each treatment takes 10-15 minutes. Vacuum stimulation removes the old, damaged, and dull topmost layer of the skin which sounds scary, but used as directed, it’s not going to hurt your skin.
How Do You Use ReVit?
Start with clean skin. Choose the tip you want, adding the little round black filter before you secure the tip to the ReVit (you will see all the dead skin it captures after your treatment. Use once and toss it). Select the intensity setting you want (start gentle, increase as desired). Run the ReVit over your skin slowly treating each section for 5 minutes. After treatment wash face with cold water, apply moisturizer and this is very important: wear SPF 30+ to protect the new skin you’ve just revealed.
This product is really meant for the face, but I also used it on my decollete which has an uneven tone and feel, due to sun exposure (read our latest sun/skincare protection article to save yourself from the same fate). While everyone’s skin is different, I saw results immediately after just one treatment. My skin tone was much more even, and my skin felt less bumpy. After a few treatments, I felt as though I’d taken five years off my chest, literally! I am sure I wouild see even more significant changes over time I used ReVit every 3-4 days as directed for a longer period of time. I intend to continue to use it!
Does ReVit Really Work?
As I always say in every skincare treatment review, my skin is not like yours and yours isn’t like anyone else’s. Your results will vary and may be even better. Like any treatment, you still need to use the device properly. Over-doing it won’t get you the results you want. This is an at-home device which means you’re probably not going to get the strength of a professional microdermabrasion machine, but it’s very good. If your skin is very damaged, you won’t get silky smooth skin in a second. So let’s be real about expectations. But it does appear that ReVit is an easy, affordable, safe, at-home option for modern microdermabrasion that will give you positive results. It stands heads above any other at-home microdermabrasion device I’ve ever tried. That’s a personal recommendation and I don’t give them very often.
To show you ReVit in action, here is a little video from the company (this is not sponsored advertising, I just want to provide because a movie is worth a thousand words):
Ready to get a new glow? You can fin ReVit at retailers such as Kohl’s and Bed Bath and Beyond, but I’d suggest you visit the Silkn Web site: https://silkn.com
