Is Spray Perfect Be The World’s Fastest Manicure? Does It Work?
I Tried it and Here’s My Review:
By Alison Blackman, Editor in Chief and Beauty Director, advicesisters.com
Spray Perfect touts itself as being “the world’s fastest manicure,” and when I hear a claim like this, I’m eager to try it.
Spray Perfect™ is an easy-to-use spray on nail polish featuring new technology that lets color adhere to nails, but easily washes off skin with water. The website claims that the product is, in fact, “the world’s fastest manicure as it dries in under a minute.”
I tried it and here’s what I found:
Spray Perfect claim that their spray-on nail polish will provide smooth, easy, complete coverage in seconds. And with their chip- and- crack-resistant “smart polish formula,” Spray Perfect always sticks to your nails, while any overspray easily washes off your skin with just water and gentle rubbing. It is safe to use on acrylic nails, won’t smudge or drip, lasts up to 5 days, and comes off with regular nail polish remover.
To use, the process works over a few simple steps:
Apply base coat.
Spray polish onto your fingernails or toenails.
Apply the top coat (keep this in mind, because we’ll come back to it soon).
Rinse excess polish off your skin.
Is Spray Perfect the World’s Fastest Manicure, As Advertised?
Uh…no, not really. The Spray Perfect website touts the product as being super fast. Applying the polish takes only seconds, so if you go by that, it is really fast. And it applied not quite smoothly (I had to go back over a few nails as I got too close and the spray actually blew some of the polish to the side–more my fault than that of the polish).
But it’s not that fast. You still have to apply a base coat and a top coat, let those dry, and then you have to wash off the remaining polish from your skin. So in reality, using Spray Perfect takes about the same amount of time to do your nails as a traditional manicure.
So What Is Good or Unique About Spray Perfect?
What really is great is that you don’t end up with nail polish that slops over into areas that you don’t want as long as you’ve applied your base coat very accurately. I do admit however, that I had a few nervous moments once my Spray Perfect manicure was dry and I began to wash the silver polish I had tested off my skin. It didn’t slide off all that easily without a big of coaxing. I wondered if I’d end up wearing gilded skin like the spy in the vintage James Bond Movie, “Goldfinger.” It did come off however, leaving me with a very clean looking manicure.
Is Spray Perfect Worth It?
Do you have disposable income and want to try something novel? Then Spray Perfect is worth trying. You get two bottles of Spray Perfect and a top coat for $19.99 available in seven colors: Naked Nude, Sexy Silver, Whimsical White, Racy Red, Passion Purple, Party Pink, Black Beauty at www.buysprayperfect.com/. You will also pay $4.95 shipping. There may be deal out there for free shipping but at the time I wrote this review, this was the base price on the official Spray Perfect Web Site. Depending upon how liberally you spray the product, you may have enough for up to 10 full manicures or pedicures.
Is Spray Perfect really worth it? It depends upon your expectations. I noticed that dissenters were quite nasty on other sites, but I have no idea what kind of miracles they expected from a bottle of spray polish. I am an experienced, fair reviewer, I view products like Spray Perfect to be a novelty. If you don’t expect any inflated claims, you will be satisfied.
Two bottles of the polish are still cheaper than one mani-pedi at a salon, and it is fun to use. It won’t last any longer than any other polish. It needs a great top coat to shine. If you use your hands a lot, you won’t get long wear out of it. But Spray Perfect comes with a 30-day refund policy, less S&H charges so why not try it if you are curious. In order to request one, you’ll need to call customer service at 800-340-3418.
Like so many unique as seen on TV products, the flashy promises should be ignored. Consider Spray Perfect as a novel product for your teen or tween’s pajama party or for your next girl’s night in. Consider it as a little splurge. In the end Spray Perfect is just nail polish in a spray can, after all.
