It’s the little things that I really love, especially when they solve a problem that plagues me. For instance, I have some favorite jeans that start out fitting perfectly, but by the end of the day, the waistband seems to magically grow just enough so that I start to be pre-occupied with yanking them back into place near my waist. And, I also have jeans that somehow made it into the dryer, and now they’re a bit tight and uncomfortable at the waistband. One of the easiest and most effective solutions I’ve found is a little thing called the Instant Button. I have seen them advertised on television and in catalogues, but I figured they couldn’t possibly work well. I was wrong–they DO! I got a chance to see, and then try, the Instant Button in person. It is essentially just a push-pin “button” that looks like a metal jeans button, with a backing that actually stays on quite firmly. You adjust the button to the place on your pants where they feel tight enough (or loose enough) to fit comfortably at the waist. The button comes in a variety of styles They’re the perfect stocking stuffer for every man, woman and child from the classic copper jeans button, to rhinestone-studded varieties in gold and silver. A card with two copper buttons with 2 post lengths – one of each (6mm & 8mm) for the various jeans’ and pants thickness is $15.00 *plus shipping and tax. A single rhinestone button is $13.00 * plus shipping and tax and you can also use it to secure low-cut tops, scarves and shawls. YOu can purchase the Instant Button online and at a variety of popular, nationwide retailers. Email Me.

You can’t ever have too many nail polishes. Pop a special one into those stockings, or package a few together for a holiday grab bag. Not too expensive or too “cheap” are polishes from Duri Cosmetics. Two deep colors that are trendy now from Duri’s Angels and Demons Collection for Fall-Winer 2010 include: #545 A”fallen Angel” $5.00 is a clear, shiny dark plum with a hint of tiny red shimmer, #543 “From Dusk Til Dawn” is a semi-sheer raspberry. For holiday parties where sparkle is important, I like #200 “Pure Ice” $5.00 from Duri ‘s Salon & Spa Nail Enamel Collection. This glitter polish features generous amounts of gold & red glitter on a milky cream base. #178 “All That Glitters” features gold & red glitter on a clear base.
There are plenty of fold-able ballet slippers to soothe tired feet, but Sweet Slips is the first pair I’ve ever seen where the little, drawstring tote that holds the slippers, turns into a full sized tote for the task of carrying your discarded stilettos! What a clever idea! The slippers are machine washable, and have an anti-slip bottom. Just the thing to pop into your tote (or that holiday stocking). While they don’t have a substantial sole, they’re perfect for boogying at a club or another inside venue. They come in sizes X-small (5/6): Small (7): Medium (8); and Large (9?10). They even double as beach or spa slippers if you are on vacation. And the suggested retail pricer for these lovely little Sweet Slips is just $14.95! You can check out the styles at http://www.sweetslips.com/ —and watch for them soon in vending machines at clubs!
….and speaking of stilettos…..Foot Petals , known for their cushioning, feet-saving pads, has put together a SOS (save our soles) for girls on the go, called the Stiletto To Go Kit (srp. $19.00). This sole-saving emergency kit is the perfct stocking stuffer for any woman who wears heels, or just likes to walk…a lot! Tucked into a re-useable, black and white tin with a big pink stiletto on the bottom and a smaller version on the top are four of Foot Petal’s most popular items: 1 pair Tip Toes (to cushion the ball of your feet); 1 pair Heavenly Heelz (back-of-the-heel cushions); 1 pair Sole Stopperz (bottom of the shoe pads to stop your shoes from slipping on floors); and 8 Strappy Strips (thin bands of cushiony comfort to affix to sandal straps, toe ring holds, slingback straps, or anywhere you need a little extra comfort. A quote on the top of the tin says tgat Foot Petals are “for those of us who have a love/hate relationship with our sexy shoes.” Definitely so, but even those who wear purely utilitaian shoes need some buffering from boots or flats now and then, too. My kit was called “Black Iris” and featured all black cushions, but Stiletto To Go also comes in beige and silver. The Foot Petals as individual products also come in more colors and prints (My favorite is an orange and black tiger stripe–why not have some fun while you’re deflecting foot pain?! This little tin would be a nice part of a thank you to your bridal party, and of course, to give as stocking stuffers. You can buy Foot Petals in a variety of online and retails stores. There is a Foot Petals store locator on the Foot Petals Web Site.

Yes, these are a little more of a splurge, but they’re boxed, and worth it. The petite tube glosses with brush tips beautify and pamper with Vitamin E and joba butter. Even if your lips are chapped, these gorgeous glosses give them a hint of color and a lot of light-reflecting shine. Pouty lips are yours in an instant! Get one as a little something for your evening bag, and give them in their shiny, black, outer cartons to your favorite fashionista friends. Beauty Addicts categorized their colors adjusting the conventional “seasonal color story” with four color families: GLOW, EXPRESS, MOTIVATE, and SEDUCE. The color palettes empower women to create their own look – be it casual, flirtatious, professional, or downright glamorous. I tried three of the four shades: “Express” is a sheer peach that has just a touch of warm coral. Lilac lovers will covet “Motivate,” a semi-sheer, creamy with a touch of shimmer, lavender-pink. For a light lipstain, “Black Cherry” is a sheer, shimmery berry that is a perfect alternative to overly-bold, opaque reds and berries. “Blush” is a special occasion pink. Find them in salons and on the Beauty Addicts Web Site.
