M-A-C- Cosmetics Tendertalk Lip Balms are a Fun Color Game Changer
Tendertalk Lip Balms, the newest from M-A-C- Cosmetics, are a whole lot of fun, and really great for hydrating your lips all Summer long.
If you’re a child of the ’70’s you probably remember mood rings, and lipsticks that changed color to show your “personality.” The mood rings were fun, but cheaply made and most of them have long been relegated to landfills or vintage shops. The lip products were fun but often morphed to scary, garish colors, depending upon your skin tone and body chemistry. They also ended up being discarded.waken to a sweet new sensation:
But now there are new formulas and as the old saying goes: “Everything old is new again.” So M-A-C- Cosmetics ha taken the best of what we need for Summer (good, hydrating lip balm) and married it to something that makes it fun: color-changing technology. The result is Tendertalk Lip Balm ($20.00/each).
M-A-C- Cosmetics says: “Tendertalk Lip balm is a smart lip conditioner that creates a personalized tint based on your chemistry. Combining nourishing skincare and technology, this perfect lip transformer helps keep lips soft and moisturized while intuitively offering the right hint of colour.”
The new Tendertalk Lip Balm collection arrives in six different colors from light to deep, in cool and neutral tones from blush pink to bright cool fuchsia. The fun part is that they all will change to something else, depending upon your body chemistry.
The Advice Sisters received four of the six. In all honesty, what we liked the best (apart from the brushed silver tubes that looked so sleek, and the familiar vanilla M-A-C lippie scent, and the gloriously luxe and hydrating balm), was the fact that none of the colors were very intense or change-able. That actually gave us a big sigh of relief. I mean, it’s fun to have a color morph, but you don’t want to buy pink and end up with fushia, or think you’re getting a sheer red and end up with coral. All of the colors we tested were very sheer and natural and pretty, really pretty. They added a hint of tint that was enough to make you leave a lipstick at home on a casual day. We can’t tell you exactly how these Tendertalk Lip Balms will change when put them on your lips, because that is completely personalized to you. But here’s our report:
Candy Wrapped: sheer pink (we didn’t try this one) Pretty Me Up: sheer coral (we didn’t try this one); Play With Me: sheer red (the sheer red stayed a red, but got slightly more rose pink, and very pretty); Teddy Pink: sheer bright pink

Teddy Pink: sheer bright pink ( on our lips it was very light and sheer, and pretty much stayed that way adding just a touch more pink to our lips- also very pretty).
Side Dish: sheer plum (this one looked the brightest in the tube and the most intense on lips but still it remained bright sheer pink-ish shade that was still pretty natural).
