These days $15.00 might buy you a lipstick, but Total Beauty is offering something more: a box of samples from top-rated luxury beauty brands. While the sizes of most are, at most, a one or two-time trial size, you get a chance to try things you might not normally purchase. Who doesn’t like to experiment?
The Advice Sisters love these types of offers, and we love sample sizes, and this one even comes with free shipping, so when I was asked if I’d like to try the first collection, I jumped at it!
When my box arrived and I unearthed what was inside, I realized that there are pros, and cons, to a sampling offer. I liked the idea that you get 4-6 samples, but you’re not going to know what they are until they arrive. Some may appeal to you more than others, and of course, the products have to appeal to you and your tastes and skin/hair type.
In my sample box I received the following: A water resistant, BLINC Mascara that features “tubes” that wrap around your lashes to make them thicker. This is a product I’d been wanting to try. So far, SCORE! Next I “excavated a 1.6 oz. June Jacobs Spa Collection Green Tea and Cucumber Body Balm. June Jacobs makes lovely lotions, and I give this one a SCORE! Next was a travel-sized o.85 fl. oz. pump bottle of Luminous Shine Mist by Alterna. This company makes luxury hair care and it’s pricey, so having a chance to sample this product, also a big SCORE!
There was a gift card for Pevonia Botanica, but there wasn’t any indication on the card of what the promo was for . I realized later on that there was a postcard included with the TotalBeauty.com Collection that mentioned the four items in the sampling and specifically said that the Pevonia card was worth $15.00 towards a purchase. My initial inclination is to just toss out accompanying literature, so had I done so with this collection, I wouldn’t have had a clue what to do with the card, and the time and effort it would have taken to find out, wouldn’t have been really worth it. Minor Score.
Finally, there was a total beauty nail file and a blue, plastic purse mirror with TotalBeauty.Com emblazoned on it. These are free promo gimmick items that while useful, are extra “gifts” and not included as part of the sampling. I would have liked a few more samples instead of these, but the items I did receive were worth more than $15.00. I wasn’t disappointed and would be eager to see what’s in the next box!
You can get your own TotalBeauty Collection samples at www.TotalBeauty.com/Collection and enter an email to get advanced notice when a new collection is coming. If you are on a tight budget, if you just love surprised in your mailbox, if you love trying new products, and if you travel and love travel sized items that the TSA won’t cart away, the TotalBeauty Collection (with delivery in 3-5 business days) is a definitely the “total package.”
