There’s something about Laura — as always — something wonderful! Laura Mercier interprets the latest trends, and then turn them into wearable, user-friendly, high-performance products and packaging that everyone loves.
For example, treat yourself or someone special to the limited “Portfolio Animation collection, available this month through April. The Custom Artist Portfolio is a new concept for Laura Mercier. It is a way to organize your Laura Mercier makeup in a beautiful travel case, and with it, a range of new products for lips, cheeks and eyes that can all fit into Laura’s Custom Compacts, creating a one of a kind kit.
Start with the Custom Artist Portfolio for Home & Away ($98.00, retail value of $120.00). This beautiful case in metallic, pewter snakeskin material, will hold all the Laura Mercier Flawless Face and Colour essentials. It has a rigid outer shell and inside there are four multi size mesh cosmetic bags that are removable (thanks to built-in magnets). The portfolio also has Laura Mercier‘s unique pocketed brush page to hold your favorite brushes.
You also get two refillable 6 and 3-well custom compacts to hold your favorite Laura Mercier lip, eye, and cheek products. You can buy the colors in individual compacts that open to allow you to change a color in and out of the larger compact, or just use as-is. The six well is just $20.00 to customize six of your favorite Laura Mercier colors with her 6-well custom compact. This exclusive custom compact accommodates six eye colors, eye liners or cheek colors that you choose. The unique design (in Laura’s signature chocolate brown), simply allows you to snap a pan of color . At a compact 5″ X 3.5″ X 0.5″/12.70cm X 8.89 cm X 1.27 cm you can pop it into a purse or tote for travel.
It took me a few minutes to figure out how to pop the products in and out of the individual cases. Here’s how: simply gently push on the open rectangle on the back of the individual compact and the thin “frame” that surrounds the pan of color, will pop open. Take the pan out, place it in one of the three or six well compacts, and close the master frame over it. Voila1 When it’s time to take a product in or out, simply repeat the process from the big compact to the individual ones. It’s that easy!
What goes into this customized Portfolio Animation collection? Here are some of the top picks to try:
Try a Lip Glaze ($20.00) with sheer colour and lots of shine, available in three new, limited-edition shades: Soft Pink , Plum and Lotus Bloom. The Soft Pink is more of a sheer nude rose that works on everyone’s lips with just a little color and a lot of shine. These will fit into the 3 and 6 well custom compacts. The silky, non-sticky or greasy formula is fragrance-free, and good for even sensitive skin, with key ingredients that moisturize: Monoi de Tahiti Butter and emollient oils. Apply with fingertip or brush.
Sheer Crème Colour ($22.00) is what it says: a sheer, crème face colour that provides a soft veil of colour. It might just make a cream color fan out of even the most die-hard powder product devotees. The formula is silky and easy to apply, but also non greasy or sticky, It[‘s dermatologist tested and good for all skin types, even those with sensitive skin. The fragrance-free formula lasts for hours, and gives skin a shimmery but not too 100-watt glow. With just a touch on your fingertips you can make your skin look refreshed, in three new, limited-edition shades: Pearl Glow Veil, Pink Cheek Veil and Bronze Veil. The Pearl Glow Veil is a shimmery sheer gold that you can use to highlight a bit on lips and eyes, too. The Bronze Veil will enhance a tan or add a bit of glow where the sun naturally hits (cheeks, nose, brow bone, forehead and chin). Pink Cheek Veil just adds a glowy bit of pink to cheeks–pretty and fresh.
Second Skin Cheek Colour ($24.00) is a blush that everyone can love. It’s a micro-fine, pressed powder so silky it just blends effortlessly into your skin, delivering layer-able, natural,, sheer color. Natural spherical polymers offer skin-smoothing benefits, while micronized pigments make the color blendable and silky, and long lasting. There are 18 colors in total to choose from, with five new, permanent shades: Heather Pink; Peach Whisper; Soft Iris; Honey Mocha ; and Sweet Mandarin. Heather Pink is a medium clear pink that can be worn subtly on fair skin or layered for more intensity on deeper complexions. But no matter what the shade of skin, this pink just adds a pop of blush that looks natural and perks up Winter weary skin . Later this year, it will enhance a (make it faux”) tan too. TIP: apply to the cheeks beginning at the top of the cheekbone and brushing downward to the apples of the cheeks, applying in a rounded horseshoe shape.
Laura Mercier is known for her blendable-wear-able eye colors, but there are three new, limited edition shades to snag right now: Eye Colour ($22.00) Merlot (shown) Sateen ;Golden Crème Luster ; and Seashell Pink Sateen. The Merlot is a deep, regal plum that can we worn as a powder liner, or smudged all over the eyelids for a modern, smoky eye. It’s really a four season color. Wear it as a liner or blend it out for a sheer wash in Spring and Summer. Make it more intense in the evening, Fall and Winter.
