The Advice Sisters recently made Phytomer’s Pionniere XMF cream and an amazing facial treatment, the Weekly Obsession. Pionniere XMF is a new and exciting skincare product for mature skin and anti-aging protection. But there are other Phytomer products that also use marine botanicals, Phytomer’s signature ingredients, And there is also a new and exceptional product from Phytomer’s sister company, Phytoceane. The Advice Sisters think you’ll want to try some of these skin-loving products this Summer:
Dry, chapped lips, UGH! Who wants to kiss those? The best way to get rid of “lip flakes” is to exfoliate them. You also need to keep lips smooth if you want to wear deep lip colors without suffering the humiliation of those tiny bits of skin cause when you’re swiping lipcolours over them. But Phytomer’s Exfoliating Radiance Gel for Lips ($35.50 (0.5 fl. oz. ) gently but effectively scrubs away any dead skin, leaving your lips smooth and radiant. The brown cream/gel has no taste or smell, it isn’t gritty, and it is emollient so it stays on your lips as you are scrubbing (a big improvement over sugar scrubs that fall off and make a mess). The product rinses off easily and leaves lips soft and clean. This product is also great for removing any residue from long lasting lip products, too. The ingredients include a mix of two marine algae: Delesseria Sanguinea and Porphyra Conchocelis, plus exfoliating Extract, Apricot Kernel Powder, to nourish and condition. Used once or twice a week, humiliating lip flakes will be a distant memory. To use, just massage a tiny bit into the lips with your fingertips, then rinse with water. Easy! and done!
After exfoliation, your lips need extra TLC. Phytomer’s Plumping Nourishing Balm ($35.50 0.5 fl. oz.) is soft and comforting, and has a hint of vanilla. Dictyopteris oil (from a marine algae) restores volume while beads of hyaluronic acid help fill in and smooth out any wrinkles. The slim-tipped tube dispenses a rich, white cream that you applyto dry lips once or twice a week, after using the Exfoliating Radiance Gel. Gently massage in with fingertips. However, you can certainly use the balm any time. I’m taking mine, to the beach this Summer!
For eyes and lips, the multi-tasking Phytomer Youth Contour Reviving Wrinkle Correction Cream Eye & Lip Care .5oz. (srp. $74.50). A product that you can use on eyes and lips to help soften wrinkles and hopefully delay or stop new ones from forming. Of course, it also helps to reduce puffiness and dark circles. Pat a bit gently around eye and lip areas morning and evening. The cream contains three marine extracts: – Dilsea Carnosa red algae extract (to reduce wrinkles); Chlorella Vulgaris green algae extract (to reduce puffiness); and dark circles are taken care of with Delesseria Sanguinea red algae extract. One last marine ingredient called Marine Oxhylium helps to detoxify and oxygenate so your skin feels refreshed and soft. This is one to take on vacation as a two-fer.
Phtooceane – more skincare from the sea: As I was writing up this report on Phytomer’s eye and lip products, I received a sample of the Phytoceane Aquasaphir Essential Renewal Cream (srp. $134.50 for 1.6 fl. oz.) . Phytoceane is a sister company of Phytomer and while they are different the both focus on using marine botanicals. I wanted you to know about Aquasaphir. It contains yet another marine algae called “Aquasaphir,” a blue microalgae extracts that helps to diminish the skin’s stress levels and thereby the signs of aging from stress.for skin that is over age 45, mostly. The blue algae acts as an inflammatory, slowing down the formation of wrinkles.
But this “gem of the sea” doesn’t work on blue algae alone. It also contains antioxidant Malachite and firming foraha oil (stimulates collagen production and helps to slow the appearance of deep wrinkles) a vegetal coral from the red seaweed family called Jania Rubens (ultra moisturizing) , Dilsea Carnosa (a red algae) that helps firm, and marine Samphire Oil (aka. the “retinol of the sea”) that helps simulate cellular renewal and increases skin density. This sounds pretty exciting (*note that the Advice Sisters just recently reviewed a new and even pricier anti-aging product from Sister company Phytomer called Phytomer Pionniere XMF Perfection Youth Cream – $230.50 1.6 fl. oz.).
Once I smoothed the Phytoceane Aquasaphir Essential Renewal Cream on my skin, it felt kind of refreshing, and I sensed a bit of a tingle or tightening as the ingredients went to work. Users will feel like they are doing a little something special to protect their skin and pamper themselves. I can’t tell you whether or not it’s a blue miracle in a jar, however, because I don’t have the luxury of using every single product for weeks or even months. Even if I did, my personal results won’t be the same as yours, anyone else’s, because our skin is unique to us, along with it’s condition and expectations. But what I can tell you is that my skin looks more radiant and refreshed. Phytomer claims that in a test conducted with 26 women(ages 45-64) who used the product twice a day for 28 days, and who had fine lines and wrinkles, sagging skin and a dull complexion, over 90% said their skin ws suppler and over 85% said their skin was more toned with softer features. There were 70% of those tested who said they saw firmer skin and a more luminous complexion. These are impressively high results. I love the idea of beauty from the sea. I think you will, too!
The Phytoceane Aquasaphir Essential Renewal Cream arrives in a striking turquoise, white, and silver metallic box. Alas, as with Pionniere XMF, the packaging inside is a screw top jar and that is something I truly dislike. The jar is silvery, with turquoise lettering, and it looks very pretty. But I don’t like the idea of sticking fingers into a jar. It is messy, even though you do get a little plastic spatula with which to apply the cream. Honestly though, most people will lose the spatula and end up with their fingers in the jar of cream, thereby immediately contaminating it. Once the jar is opened, you’re adding oxygen from the air, and other pollutants, and your pricey cream can really become degraded quickly. But dissenters say that creams in jars are more elegant, and of course, sometimes it’s the only way to package a thick cream. This one is very rich, so perhaps it wouldn’t work at all in an airless pump or other dispenser. The cream feels silky on your face, but it does leave some residue. It’s pampering, but if you are adding sun screen and foundation, it’s something you need to know. There is the slightest scent, and it’s light and fresh.
