Victorias Secret fragrance called “INCREDIBLE launched a few months ago, but as far as I know it is the first fragrance directly inspired by a bra (also by Victorias Secret and also called ‘Incredible”). Using a superlative like ‘Incredible” definitely gets one’s attention But does the fragrance live up to it’s boastful name?
I’m a big fan of Victorias Secret cosmetics. They’re beautiful, trendy but wearable, and amazingly affordable. But it has been quite some time since The Advice Sisters have had anything to review from this line. I was delighted to discover, INCREDIBLE.
This fragrance is not avant-garde, or particularly different from a myriad of other fruity florals, but it is light, and lovely for the warmer weather. It will especially appeal to younger women who already love VC lingerie and clothing. This group wants to be sexy, but they don’t want to smell like their mothers. However, it’s the type of fragrace that “mom” might like to share with her daughter as a girly, summer scent.
INCREIDBLE’S top notes offer an immediate hit of fruits: juicy and fragrant white peach combined with pear and lotus accords. A heart of romantic, floral notes include magnolia, honeysuckle and iris, while the base provides a lightly sensual finish with soft vanilla, Australian sandalwood, liquid musk and coconut milk. The notes blend nicely for a pleasant drydown, and depending upon your body chemistry, the scent will continue to last for quite a while.
The bottle looks well, lovely, if not incredible, created in hot pink so it immediately broadcasts the message that when you wear it, you can feel like a seductress, but more the flirty girl next door, than Mata Hari. The bottle and the outer carton admonish (among other empowering adjectives): “Be seductive. Be sexy. Be INCREDIBLE!” It’s a nice presentation, and one that may resonate strongly with new graduates finding themselves in a depressing job market, or moving home with mom and dad. At $45.00 it makes a nice graduation gift!
Victoria’s Secret Incredible is available in 50 ml Eau de Parfum ($45) or 250 ml Scented Mist ($25); matching body lotion is also available at Victorias Secret Stores and http://www.victoriassecret.com/]
